GTA Online on PC will finally receive current-gen console features in 2025

Today, in a sort of hidden, sly wink, Rockstar Games announced that it will finally be bringing PS5 and Xbox Series console features to the PC version of Grand Theft Auto Online next year.

Hidden at the bottom of today’s GTA Online community update, Rockstar said the following: “There’s still a lot to come, including weekly special events and bonuses, holiday celebrations, giveaways, surprises, and plans to bring many… asked for features GTA Online on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S on the PC platform in the new year. Stay tuned to the Rockstar Games Newswire for details.

This refers to features included exclusively in the enhanced version of GTA 5 for PS5 and Xbox Series consoles, which was released in 2022. This included everything from improvements to graphical settings to actual new features, including quality of life improvements, a new intro and tutorial, new vehicle improvements, and much more. There is also a character transfer feature that has allowed players to transfer their story mode progress and GTA Online characters from previous-gen systems to current-gen and even across multiple platforms, suggesting that we may now be able to similarly transfer progress to PC .

This is an update that has been in the works for several years and has been highly requested by fans since the enhanced editions first hit consoles.

The rest of the Community Update covers things that will actually be coming to GTA Online for everyone in December, including new attractions at the Darnell Bros Garment Factory, new missions, vehicles, and some quality of life improvements.

There is something to do while waiting for GTA 6, which, as we have learned, is still a long way away and is currently scheduled for fall 2025. Unfortunately, GTA 6 will not be available at launch on PC, but hopefully it will only be a matter of time.
