Google’s call filtering feature is handy software that basically answers your phone for you. The company’s digital assistant guides the caller with prompts, and you can respond with a elementary set of answers, such as asking who’s calling, telling them to call back later, or confirming an appointment. Well, it may be a bit more advanced Google call screen AI features in the works.
As he noticed 9to5Googlecode in the latest beta version of Google’s phone app reveals a Call Assist feature that could suggest “new intelligent AI-powered replies based on the caller’s call screen responses.” This should support provide more useful answers in a wider range of situations, although we have no idea how this works in practice.
Add this to Google’s long list of AI features, and it becomes clear who is leading the way with stimulating up-to-date AI capabilities. With the recent implementation of Gemini Live and features like Magic Eraser and Circle to Search, you have plenty of options. Moreover, this should not only be narrow to the top-of-the-line Google Pixel phones, but should come to the Android ecosystem.
While Google has some of the best Android phones available today, artificial intelligence is where it has been comfortably pushed forward while others, namely Apple, seem to be lagging behind. Given the leisurely rollout of Apple Intelligence at the moment, that doesn’t look like it’s going to change anytime soon.
