Google Pixel 9 leak spoils huge surprise for Android users

As the premiere of the brand’s next flagship phone approaches, Google Pixel 9 Series the leaks keep piling up, with fresh details about Samsung’s overclocked displays emerging. As we’ve learned from previous leaks, we’re expecting three main models in the Pixel 9 series, the Pixel 9, Pixel 9 Pro, and Pixel 9 Pro XL, as well as a second-generation foldable Pixel.

All of the phones are said to apply Samsung’s M14 OLED technology. It’s a generation ahead of the Korean tech giant’s Galaxy S24 series displays, Samsung’s best phones of 2024, and the fresh material promises better brightness and durability. It’s also further evidence that the pair of Android brands are eager to collaborate on fresh software and hardware advancements.

New report from Android Power reveals the display specs of each of this year’s best Google Pixel phones. The Pixel 9 will have a 6.24-inch display with a resolution of 1080 x 2424 and an HDR brightness of 1800 nits. The Pixel 9 Pro will have a 6.34-inch screen with a resolution of 1280 x 2856, while the Pixel 9 Pro XL is 6.73-inches with a resolution of 1344 x 2992. Both Pro models have a higher brightness output of 2050 nits, and all models have a refresh rate of 120Hz. All in all, you’re looking at a Google Pixel trio that could soon be a contender for our best gaming phones list, because these specs are incredibly impressive.

This year, Google is also hoping to give the best foldable phones a run for their money with its Pixel Fold successor. The Pixel 9 Pro Fold will have significantly larger displays than its predecessor, with a 6.24-inch panel on the outside and a giant 8-inch foldable display on the inside. The outside screen has a resolution of 1080 x 2424 and an HDR brightness level of 1800 nits. The inside screen has a resolution of 2152 x 2076 and a brightness output of 1600 nits. With those specs, it’s capable of competing with the fresh Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 6 on paper.

Not less significant, Android Headlines and OnLeaks has shared high-quality renders of the Pixel 9 Pro in all of its various color options. The phone will come in Obsidian, Porcelain, Rose, or Hazel. All of them appear to feature matte rear panels and glossy aluminum side rails. As we’ve seen in previous leaks, the camera island also has a distinctive fresh shape.

The Google Pixel 9 series will be unveiled at a special event on August 13, and while leaks have given us a good idea of ​​what to expect, we can’t wait to find out more. Once that’s cleared up, it’s Apple’s turn, with an iPhone 16 launch event expected in September.
