Get ready for one last round of sucking because the final season of What We Do in the Shadows already has a premiere date

Published:

I hope you’re ready for some blood-sucking, fancy shirt-tucking, and all that other… you know, because season six of What We Do in the Shadows is just a few months away.

All good things must come to an end, as the saying goes, even if we don’t always want them to. Unfortunately, that’s the case for the beloved mockumentary comedy series What We Do in the Shadows , which will wrap up its sixth and final season later this year. And by later this year, I mean just three months, because FX has finally set a premiere date for this final season: October 21st. Of course, that’s very seasonal, since Halloween is just around the corner, and it’ll apparently be coming out with three episodes at once (pun very much intended).

After that, it will stick to a weekly schedule, with 11 episodes in total, with each episode airing on Hulu the following day. Sorry to international fans, though, as there is no international release date yet, but the series will air on Disney+ once it is released in other territories.

The official description for Season 6 explains what the cast will be up to this time around: “After a very brief stint as a full-fledged vampire, Guillermo (Harvey Guillén) reassesses his life. Who is he if not a familiar face who will do anything to please his Master, hoping to one day be transformed into a vampire? Meanwhile, the vampires are also reassessing their lives. When their former roommate reappears after a 50-year slumber, they realize how little they’ve done in half a century – not a single goal achieved, not a single dream realized, not a single part of the New World conquered (aside from their street and a section of Ashley Street).”

Those heading to San Diego Comic Con may also be interested to know that there will be a panel discussion about the series featuring stars Matt Berry, Kayvan Novak, Mark Proksch, and Kristen Schaal, as well as executive producer/writer Paul Simms and executive producer/director Kyle Newacheck — check it out tomorrow, July 25, from 3:30-4:30 PM PT in Hall H. There will also be a petite preview of the modern episode.
