Twenty years ago, the original Monster Hunter game first familiarized players with a constantly growing arsenal of weapons and monster -memorable. Since then, the series has gained popularity around the world and has been improved so that it became one of the best multiplayer games they have to offer the game. Defeating an unfathomable, huge creation, cooperation with other hunters and the skillful apply of weapons and the skills of everyone, gives special satisfaction to overthrow the most terrifying enemies.

To celebrate the 20th anniversary of the series-i Wild monster hunters Premiere planned for February 28 – let’s look at how the series has evolved with PlayStation since the debut in 2004.

Monster hunter PS2

The biggest giants often come out of modest beginnings. The game from which it all began, was released in Japan in March 2004, in North America a few months later, in September, and in Europe in March 2005 it introduced the basic game that will define Monster Hunter in the upcoming decades: on missions, gathering resources and managing them, producing weapons and armor, and the need to approach and attack wild monsters thanks to strategy, planning and perseverance to succeed.

As for the current standards of the series, Monster Hunter looks quite modest, has only seven types of weapons and thirty monsters (including many known creatures, such as Rathalos), but the game offered a lot of diversity in terms of types of tasks and their difficulties. In addition, the game was designed for online multi -person mode, when it was still up-to-date, even offering special tasks that could only be played online.

Monster Hunter did very well in Japan and while Capcom was working on continuing, he released Monster Hunter G, improvement with improvements, up-to-date functions, more monsters and tasks of a higher difficulty level.

Dos monster hunter | PS2

The real continuation of Monster Hunter appeared overdue in the PS2 era – and only in Japan. Monster Hunter Dos released on PlayStation 2 in February 2006, with a up-to-date weapon, additional side tasks, a unique system of day/night and season, and an addition of armor improvements, as well as many other diminutive corrections and improvements. Monster Hunter Dos was warmly received in Japan and was the last game of Monster Hunter on PS2. However, when it comes to the larger global market – and the future of Monster Hunter – Capcom looked at PlayStation Portable.

Freedom of monster hunters PSP

Even before the premiere of Monster Hunter Dos, Capcom wanted players to be able to hunt wherever they were. Monster Hunter Freedom, known in Japan as Monster Hunter Portable, was published in December 2005 in Japan and on May 2006 around the world. She was based to a huge extent on the mentioned Monster Hunter G, offering both up-to-date monsters (including Yian Garugi’s debut) and the “G” rank tasks at a high level, so that players could enjoy them

In retrospect, it is basic to understand why the PSP console seemed to be a real “home” for Monster Hunter: the possibility of playing in the ADHOC local network in combination with advanced graphic capabilities and analog control fits the game in Monster Hunter like a carvan. Then appeared Monster Hunter Freedom 2, which modeled on Monster Hunter Dos, expanding the weapon’s repertoire (adding basic elements of the series to the armory, such as hunting horn and shooting lance) and re -visiting various DOS locations.

Freedom of monster hunters United PSP

“Phenomenon” is exactly the word describing how huge the continuation of Monster Hunter Freedom in Japan became. Monster Hunter Freedom Unite released in Japan as Monster Hunter Portable 2nd G, continuing the success of the previous game and changing Monster Hunter into a well -known name. Freedom Unite sold 3.8 million copies around the world in an impressive circulation, many of which came from Japan.

Based on Freedom 2, Freedom Unite offered a number of quality improvements in the basic mode, adding more environments, more monsters, additional monster behavior and lots of up-to-date tasks with a high level of difficulty. He introduced the concept of auxiliary characters controlled by the processor, enabling solo players to apply companion Flyne to support in fighting – a function on which later games from the series were based.

Portable monster hunter 3rd | PSP

Monster Hunter Portable 3RD appearing at the end of 2010 is another Monster Hunter title only available in Japan – which, however, did not prevent him from becoming one of the fastest -selling Capcom games in history. Portable 3RD used the PSP maximally, presenting one of the best -looking visual effects in the system and establishing the standard for high -quality visual projects, which series will continue in later installments. Zinogre appeared on Portable 3RD for the first time, to this day a monster favorite by fans.

The world of monster hunters PS4

If there is a turning point, at which the enthusiasm to Monster Hunter has become global, it is probably Monster Hunter World from 2018. Titled by the terrifying older dragon of the nergigant, Monster Hunter World was a huge evolution of the series, both in terms of graphics and in terms of gameplay, using PS4 to ensure glossy hunting – in many ways.

Not only the tutorials and impressions from the early stage of the game for the novices of the series were improved, but various “zones” forming huge hunting environments (and requiring momentary charging times) have been improved into one huge, open space for epic pursuit of monsters. For the first time in history, Monster Hunter was released at the same time around the world, enabling players from around the world to join forces and experience a thrill associated with joint development of up-to-date hunting strategies. According to the name of the game scenery, it seemed that a up-to-date world opened before the Monster Hunter series.

Monster Hunter World turned out to be so success all over the world that the next year was issued by the Iceborne add -on, re -introducing some frosty weather mechanics known from previous Monster Hunter titles. Monster Hunter World has an busy player base to this day.

Monster hunters will be created PS5, PS4

Monster Hunter Rise, along with his main Magnamo monster, hit PS5 and PS4 at the beginning of 2023. He brought with him a number of unique additions to the game: brisk traveling, launched from the air, a up-to-date type of comrade Canyne called Palamas, and the battle of “Rampage”, in which the hunters were to protect the village of Kamura from the attack of several monsters at once – including particularly perilous monsters Apex. In addition, in addition to hunting and catching monsters, you can take control of huge beasts for a compact time thanks to the WIVERNA driving function.

And so the huge adventure has become even greater with the extension of Sunbreak, transferring hunters to a distant kingdom, adding some up-to-date monsters (including the up-to-date leading Malzeno beast), additional hunting places and many up-to-date skills for all weapons.

Wild monster hunters PS5

The evolution of Monster Hunter from the iconic favorite through the Japanese sensation to world popularity was a challenge, and waiting for the upcoming Monster Hunter Wilds has already reached the summit. From up-to-date, striking weather effects to up-to-date possibilities, which is provided by a bird mount called seikret – players have a whole mountain of up-to-date functions to consider.

Last year’s closed beta enjoyed great interest of both aged and up-to-date players. Fortunately, for those of you who want to take a hunting corner with them on a trip to forbidden lands, you will not have to wait too long – Monster Hunter Wilds will be released on February 28.
