Hoyoverse interrupts support for The influence of Genshin On PS4.
IN statementThe publisher thanked PS4 players for “continuous support and love”, but claimed that “due to restrictions related to the hardware performance and the size of the platform application”, it would stop supporting and updating RPGs in the Sony Last Gen.
“Plan to remove and interrupt” for Genshin Impact will appear in three phases: First, the PS4 version will be removed from the PlayStation store on September 10 (although you will still be able to download it again, if it is already in your library). Secondly, shopping in the game will be removed on February 25, 2026, and finally the support will end completely in August 2026.
Fortunately, Hoyo gave a decent notice period, so you’ll still be able to play Genshin on PS4 until August 4, 2026.
PS5 players are not to worry – change should not affect you at all, and travelers will still be able to “enjoy the latest content updates”.
“These corrections only apply to the influence of Genshin on PS4,” repeated the publisher. “We recommend that travelers currently play in PS4 the transition to PS5 or other supported platforms to continue to enjoy the game. This will not affect the progress of the game. If you have questions about this advertisement, please contact the customer’s service of Genshin Impact.”
The advertisement attracted a lot of attention in the post Commentary sectionWith hundreds of players sharing their thoughts. Some are confused why the game must be interrupted on PS4 at all, taking into account that the game is available on mobile devices, while others accept that the decaded architecture of PS4 had an inevitable end date.
While PS5 can still be out of reach, do not forget that Genshin serves a group on all platforms, including mobile – Here is now to sign up between your accounts.

We thought it was “amazing” when it was published in 2020, granting him 9/10 in Ign Genshin Impact ReviewWriting: “Genshin Impact is an amazing adventure with an open world that strongly draws both the breath of wild and anime inspiration to create something really special. Even if the Gach model presents some undesirable grinding, a great fight, addictive exploration and beautiful world, it makes one of the most exciting games in which I played.”
