How good is the current Genshin Strike banners?

Disclaimer: No mercy for a specific 4-star character or weapon. Don’t pursue a specific 4-star unless you’re ready to earn a few 5-stars along the way. The weapon banner is even more punishing than the character banner. Do not pull if you do not agree to receive at least one of each weapon featured.

How good is Xilonen?

Xilonen is a mighty support that weakens enemies and provides healing. Geo characters typically interact poorly with other elements, but Xilonen breaks the mold by actively encouraging Pyro, Hydro, Electro, and Cryo teams. Once the artifact is set, Cinder City Xilonen’s Hero’s Scroll grants additional buffs when Crystallize is activated. Unless you primarily play Anemo, Dendro or Geo teams, Xilonen will be a valuable asset. However, her kit works differently depending on what items are present on her team, so make sure you know how it will work on your team before you decide to pull.

How good is Chiori?

Chiori is a decently mighty Geo DPS unit out of the box. She hasn’t had much of a presence in the meta since launch, mainly because Geo teams aren’t very popular. Still, even if Chiori is rarely the best option for the team, he is never the worst option either. If you like Chiori, play her on Geo’s team, where she can interact with other characters’ Geo builds. Unless you play on Geo teams and are not in love with Chiori, she is straightforward to skip.

4-star characters

The 4-star characters featured are Collei, Candace and Dori. None of them are particularly exhilarating. If you are considering using Xilonen or the Chiori Constellation, that’s you power you want to hold off until they re-release a less dire 4 star that you actually want to play.

Of the three 4-stars, Collei is the strongest. He is a Dendro Bow user with a decent (if unreliable) Dendro app. Each player receives Collei for free after clearing the 4th floor of the Spiral Abyss, but her Constellations improve her ability to deal damage and apply Dendro. If you want to play Collea, I recommend getting as many Constellations for her as possible.

Candace and Dori are niche supporting characters. None of them see much to play with, simply because so few characters want what they offer. Candace turns melee attacks into water damage and enhances normal attacks. Dori heals and provides energy production. Most teams that could exploit Candace or Dori would be better off replacing them with someone else. Candace’s Constellation 6, however, allows her to apply some extra Hydro, which may enable some unique Vaporize or Bloom teams.

5-star weapon

The song “Peak Patrol”. is Xilonen’s signature weapon. This 5-star Sword has a secondary DEF% stat and allows Xilonen to buff teammates even more than he already does with the Cinder City Hero’s Scroll artifact set. The Peak Patrol Song is the only weapon in the game Genshin Strike which is fully compatible with the Xilonen set. 4-star alternatives include the Sword of Favonius for extra energy or the Flute of Ezpitzala for improved healing.

Uraku Misugiri is Chiori’s signature weapon, but you can also exploit it on DPS Xilonen or Albedo. Since very few characters can benefit from this passive, it is a significant DPS upgrade over 4-star options. However, even with Uraku Misugiri, it’s strenuous for me to recommend playing DPS Xilonen without at least Constellation 2.

4-star weapon

Overall, 4-star weapons are pretty good. Rust is useful for regular attackers, Codex of Favonius can be good for support, and Greatsword of Sacrifice has its uses for Chongyun. Sturdy Bone is a up-to-date banner-exclusive 4-star sword that increases normal attack damage after running. The Mountain Strengthening Bolt is an exclusive 4-star polearm that increases Skill damage. None of these up-to-date weapons are game-changing, but the Polearm could be an captivating option for Kachina, Emilie, or Cyno.
