It feels like yesterday Genshin Strike had a huge update that introduced Natlan. But the team at HoYoverse isn’t done yet and we already have details about it Genshin next major update: Version 5.1, titled A rainbow destined to be burned.
Genshin Strike Version 5.1 is released October 9, 2024. Check back later for more details, as well as pre-installation information and maintenance rewards.

Genshin Impact 5.1 Banners
The first half of version 5.1 will be available Xilonen (5 Star Geo Sword) i Chiori (5-star Geo Sword). They will be accompanied by their signature five-star Swords, Peak Patrol Song and Uraku Misugiri.
There will be replays in the second half of version 5.1 Nahida (5 Star Dendro Catalyst) i Hu Tao (5-star pyrotechnic weapon). Their five-star signature weapons are the Thousand Floating Dreams and the Staff of Homa.
In addition to these 5-star weapons, three fresh 4-star weapons will be available on weapon banners. These are the Sturdy Bone (Sword), the Consolidating Mountain Bolt (Polehands), and the Fruitful Hook (Claymore). The mountain strengthening bolt in particular seems to be Kachina’s weapon of choice, at least in cutscenes. There is no information yet on which banners will feature this weapon.
Xilonen
One fresh five-star character is coming Genshin Strike in 5.1: Xilonen. Xilonen is the notable blacksmith of the Children of Echoes, whose work can be seen in everything from the Pyro Archon’s sunglasses to the Kachina’s Turbo Twirly. On the side, she is a DJ and created a special pair of in-ear headphones so that she can listen to music on the go. Xilonen roller skates around Natlan and even climbs steep cliffs.
There are two ways to play Xilonen. If you have two or more Pyro, Hydro, Cryo or Electro characters on your team, Xilonen will be able to support them by reducing the enemy’s RES to these elements. Give her the fresh Cinder City Hero’s Scroll artifact set and she’ll also provide DMG buffs! However, if your team consists mainly of Geo, Xilonen will act more as a damage dealer.
Events
Flagship event for Genshin Strike 5.1 is Chromatic Ode of Candy and Rosesi.e. Sabzeruz Festival. The travelers will return to Port Ormos and work with the Sumerian characters to plan a birthday surprise for Nahida. Considering everything she’s been through, Nahida deserves a proper birthday celebration. The event will feature several mini-games, including a flower cart game, an anomaly-finding game, and several combat trials. Completing the event rewards players with regular Primogems and Ascension materials, as well as: free Candace.
Other events in this patch include Aphid Treasure Trail (apply Xilonen’s web to capture corrupted aphids), Festival of the Pursuit (High Difficulty Combat Event), and Reminiscent Regimen: Thrill (Co-op Combat Event). Liben will also return to the city of Mondstadt, trading various valuable goods in exchange for change.
Other additions to Genshin Strike 5.1
We can expect fresh Archon Quests which continue Natlan’s story. Several fresh characters will appear in Acts 3 and 4 of Archon Natlan’s Quests: Citlali and Ororon. None of them are playable in 5.1, but they will likely be added to the list in future updates.
A fresh world boss will be available in Natlan: the Constructor of the secret source. It’s a mysterious antique machine that looks like a larger version of the Secret Source machines in the open world of Natlana. Xilonen will likely apply the Secret Source Constructor boss materials to Ascend.
Rewards for exploration will be added for existing Natlan regions. Complete Exploration Objectives before the end of 5.2 to receive Primogem rewards. Future regional releases will also include rewards for exploring both versions once they are released.
New Envisioned Echoes trails will be added to Zhongli and Keqing. Echo Zhongli looks like golden dragon scales, while Keqing has diminutive purple flowers. Use Echo Keys to unlock the corresponding trials and unlock these cosmetic items.
If you have been clearing the Spiral Abyss regularly, your experience will now be improved. Completing floor 12 with full stars will allow you to do this skip floors 9 and 10 in the next cycle, claiming rewards directly from the Abyss screen. Completing floor 11 with full stars only allows you to skip floor 9.
The crafting experience will be overhauled, allowing you to sort by character on the crafting table. No more scrolling through pages and pages of items – just select the character you want to level up and see what materials they need.
Version 5.1 seems to be a lighter patch for Genshin Strikeadding no fresh regions and only one fresh character. Still, I’m grateful for the opportunity to catch up on some exploration and look forward to continuing Natlan’s story.
