The recently released PlayStation 4 remote-controlled helicopter game was a blatant theft of one of Grand Theft Auto Vice CityThe Worst and Most Infamous Missions. The game was already pulled from the store a few days after its release because Take-Two Interactive noticed how similar it was to the original game.
Developed and published by ERIK GAMES, HeliCity Demolition Man was released August 30 on PS4 as a digital-only game. The game costs $2. and was very miniature according to people who played it, which made it easier to get the platinum trophy. The whole game was basically an unlicensed remake City Vice’the infamous “Demolition Man” mission in which Tommy Vercetti flew an RC helicopter around a building and used it to plant explosives. And guess what the purpose was HeliCity Demolition Man is? Yes, it’s planting bombs around a building using an RC helicopter.
I would have posted a trailer for the game here, but it was removed from YouTube due to a copyright complaint from Rockstar Games’ parent company, Take-Two Interactive. Instead, I’m posting a video someone else uploaded showing HeliCity Demolition Man.
It shouldn’t come as a surprise that this game has has already been removed from the PlayStation Store. My city contacted Take-Two Interactive regarding the game and its removal.
HeliCity he doesn’t even pretend to be someone other than Vice City phony. From the HUD to the sound effects and even the look of the world, everything is clearly inspired by or directly ripped from it Vice CityThe area around the building is also a clear copy of the same part Vice City.
While it’s strenuous to believe that someone would develop this game and try to release it on PlayStation, it’s harder to fathom how Sony even let this game get through the certification process. Are there people who preview these games before they’re uploaded to the PSN store? That doesn’t seem to be the case.
