Personally, one of my favorite things to do at a video game expo has always been the tour of the public exhibition hall. I love seeing all the extravagant booths that exhibitors have set up, the freebies you can get, and the frosty activities you can do after hours. Since this is my first time at Gamescom in Germany, I wanted to organize my own little tour.
I’d only been to Eurogamer Expo (now just EGX) in the UK and Summer Game Fest before, so the scale of Gamescom was probably what put me off the most. Spread across 11 giant halls (seven open to the public and another four dedicated to games media), some of the biggest gaming companies in the world were showing off their upcoming titles. PlayStation and Nintendo aren’t present this year, leaving Xbox comfortably with the biggest booth of them all.
