This year marks the first Black Friday since the launch of the Nintendo Switch 2. While I’m not necessarily expecting huge discounts on consoles and bundles, there are plenty of must-have Nintendo Switch 2 accessories that should be available on sale in overdue November when the sale goes live.
Whether you’re upgrading your Joy-Con 2 with a recent controller or looking for peace of mind with a screen protector and case, everything will be fair game for your Black Friday deals.
To that end, I’ve compiled a list of Switch 2 accessories that I think are most likely to be discounted during the sale. Controller: 8BitDo Ultimate 2
8BitDo has a track record of making some of the best Nintendo Switch controllers money can buy. Moreover, the brand is not afraid to provide very attractive discounts on its best equipment. I’ve been reviewing 8BitDo products for years, and the Switch 2-compatible 8BitDo Ultimate 2 is certainly one of my favorites to date.
Combining sublime build quality with desirable features like drift-resistant thumbsticks, reassignable buttons, RGB lighting, and support for multi-button layout profiles, it’s a feature-packed controller that – even at retail price – is cheaper than the similarly brilliant Nintendo Switch 2 Pro Controller. I even created a guide for the Nintendo Switch 2 Pro Controller and the 8BitDo Ultimate 2 Controller and both were favorable.
I’m putting the 8BitDo Ultimate 2 in first place simply because it will almost certainly be more transactable than Nintendo’s own pad. While Nintendo is not allergic to discounts, it is generally less keen compared to third parties, offering infrequent and smaller savings.
Screen Protector: Belkin tempered glass screen protector
Scratching the display of your Nintendo Switch 2 console shortly after purchasing it is something you probably want to avoid. A huge scratch on the screen as a reminder of past sins is something that should – and can – be avoided.
That’s where custom-made Switch 2 screen protectors come in, and Belkin’s model is one of the most reliable and affordable options. This scratch-resistant screen protector is designed with handheld gaming in mind, and its tempered glass finish helps reduce glare from well-lit rooms or natural airy sources.
If Belkin’s tempered glass screen protector is discounted during Black Friday – compared to its already very reasonable price – then I’d say it will be a must-have purchase for anyone who likes to undock their Switch 2 for portable play.
Transport case: Nacon Protection Case XL
Hardware brand Nacon makes everything from controllers to headsets, but its entry into the Switch 2 accessories market has been very successful so far. The Nacon Protection Case XL is the only case you’ll need to store your Switch 2 for portable apply, along with some games and potentially even the dock and other accessories.
The clue is in the name; The Nacon Protection Case XL is huge enough to hold all of your Switch 2 essentials, while still being impressively compact and portable. It doesn’t look like much on the surface and has a rather straightforward design, but it’s fantastic for sheer functionality, offering space for a pocket computer, docking station, games and cables.
If you plan to take the entire set to another location, say take it to a friend or relative’s house during the holiday season. I can’t think of a better way to do it than with this multi-functional carry bag.
