The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom just got a up-to-date trailer, giving us our first look at Zelda in her swordsman form, where she turns blue (da ba dee da ba di) and begins attacking enemies with punches as part of her war against the color purple.
There’s only a low time left until the game’s release – literally next month, on September 26th – so it’s nice to see Nintendo giving people who’ve long wanted to see Zelda in her own game a little more beyond the previous trailers that have been released for the game.

You can watch the up-to-date trailer below. Here’s my quick synopsis – the king gets eaten by a purple rift, Zelda isn’t elated, Zelda does a bit of platforming, Zelda turns blue and kills things in her swordsman form, Zelda meets a dude who can make her little robots fight on her behalf until they’re smashed, a compilation of things Zelda does, ending splash.
Here’s what Nintendo says about the swordsman form, which is the main up-to-date feature here: “During her adventure, Zelda will find a mysterious sword that allows her to briefly transform into her powerful swordsman form and battle enemies head-on!” It doesn’t mention that it will turn blue, but it does when you pick up the sword, which is essentially a power-up that only lasts for a low time.
The sword can also be used to knock down barriers in Zelda’s path. Oh, and you refill its gauge by collecting energy in the Still World. It’s currently unconfirmed whether or not this energy comes from the aliens in a certain 1999 Europop music video.
