Update: Microsoft has officially announced Forza Horizon 6, confirming its own leak with the exact same trailer.
The game is a collaboration between Playground Studios and Turn10, but details are still being kept under wraps, with more coming next year. However, the teams shared some engaging facts about the event Xbox cable.
For example, the game will once again feature Japan with iconic landmarks including Mount Fuji, the city of Tokyo and other rural areas, but consultants have also been hired to ensure authenticity and not just “postcard tourism”. Seasons will also return, making as much of an impact as Forza Horizon 4’s UK seasons, and players will naturally look to embrace the local car culture in Japan.
The original story is as follows:
Just ahead of the Xbox Tokyo Game Show event at 11am UK time, Forza Horizon 6 has been leaked, confirming that the next installment of the open-world racing game is heading to Japan when it launches in 2026.
The trailer shows several license plates from places the series has visited in the past, then pans past Japanese memorabilia and shows Mount Fuji in the distance.
The leak came from Forza’s social media accounts, which posted the trailer on Instagram almost 12 hours ago and apparently appears as an advertisement on social media. Taking the cat out of the bag – neko, if you will – it looks like they just left it all alive.
There’s no word on a specific platform yet, but the game will definitely be available at launch on Xbox Series X|S and PC, thanks to Xbox Play Anywhere, and will be available as part of Game Pass. I suspect we won’t have to wait too long to find out if there will be a day and date for PS5 as well.
