Formula Legends to Art of Rally meets F1

The Italian Studio 3DClouds revealed the formulas Legends, an art inspired by the rally approach to arcade racing, which pays (unlicensed) tribute to over 50 years of Formula 1 racing.

3DClouds looked early at how the game is shaped, and although the elements such as AI behavior are still refined, the level of involvement in playing various F1 eras is already very impressive.

Legends formulas will have 16 car models, each with seven different threads. Cars can be massive, caricatures in the style of toys real things, but dressed in their own brand Odess to some of the most iconic racing car projects in history, inspiration for each of them is very glowing. The sound was the main goal of the band, which is worth hearing, considering how key it is for the identity of older F1 cars. The Legends formula will also be equipped with modding support – from liver to helmets and Trackside sponsors – which can be a considerable reinforcement.

Speaking of songs, each of the 14 circuits will have many varieties to reflect the way they have evolved over the years, from the 1970s to 2020. These are also inspired by real locations.

The feature mode of the Legends formula sounds particularly promising, and the championship based on the era will take us on a concert tour through the defining moments of brisk history F1.

Racing also sounds, as if there will also be a lot of nuance races. Each of the 200 drivers in the Legends formula (including Mike Shoemaker and the current leader of the Osvald Cake championships) will have the benefits of skills, but tire consumption, fuel consumption, rubber racing lines, damage and active weather will also be factors. How 3DClouds ultimately combines these deeper elements with an otherwise arcaded approach will be fascinating to learn.

Manufacturer Francesco Mantovani explained that the team took inspiration from the novel GP GP from 2023 (which is himself a return to F1 to early 3D racing games), but he wanted something that was slightly less oriented on arcaded legends.

“We tried to move him in the line between the new GP GP and Art of Rally, in terms of gameplay,” said Mantovani. “Art of Rally was the main inspiration that we took to this game. We appreciate how they worked on the camera and on the tracks.”

The history of 3DCloud racing games confessed to licensed racing games for a much younger audience (including games such as Paw Patrol Grand Prix, brisk & furious: spy and Hot Wheels Monster Trucks: Cask Mayhem), but the legends of the formulas are described as a real project for the studio, which he created completely independently.

“I think it is a game that they wanted to create really, for a very long time, and finally we have resources to do it,” confirmed the executive producer Robert Migliori, noticing that the history of the studio employee has established it as the popularity of F1 became enlarged. “With the growing popularity of this sport and strong passion, it seemed that this is the right moment. The game is completely financed thanks to other games we were working on.”

3DClouds located in Milan, a miniature ride from Monza (the legendary temple of Formula 1 speed and the third specially built race track) probably didn’t hurt either.

The Legends formula will be launched on Xbox One and Series X | S, PS4 and PS5, PC and switch this year. The team currently does not have 2 sets of Switch, but Miglyiori confirmed that “they will look at this opportunity as soon as we are ready.”
