Football Manager 25 will not be released until the end of November, Sports Interactive’s Miles Jacobson has announced. In the latest Football Manager 25 development update, Miles said that the official announcement of the game has been pushed back to the end of September and that the international board will not be part of the release.
The announcement of the removal of international management follows news from a development update in June, which confirmed that touchline shouts, club creation, challenge mode and versus mode would also not be present in Football Manager 25. Fantasy draft will also not be available at launch, but will appear in a content update later on. In a blog post today, Miles said:
“The development cycle for FM25 has been a challenge for the entire team. We knew that porting the entire game to the Unity engine would be a convoluted undertaking. As we dug into the process and gained knowledge, it’s unthreatening to say it’s been more arduous than we originally anticipated. The entire development team has been challenged in many modern ways and are doing an incredible job in the process. I can’t wait to finally share our demanding work with you, but we need a little more time before we can do that.
The challenges we have encountered in the development process over the past months have led us to make another arduous decision regarding the game’s content: international management will not be a playable mode in FM25, FM25 Console or FM25 Touch. After the summer football tournament and this week of international break, we took a very close look at international management in FM and determined that what we planned to deliver would not meet our initial quality threshold. However, international management will remain playable in FM25 Mobile as it is on a different development path and code base.”
Miles goes on to say that international management will return in Football Manager 26. Another change is that player weights will no longer be displayed in player profiles. This is because women’s weights change more often than men’s. This will likely be the last development update for Football Manager 25 before the game’s release.
