As expected, Mortal Kombat 1 players discovered Floyd’s secret fight just hours after Conan the Barbarian guest character aired, but they’re still unsure how exactly to start the battle with the mysterious pink ninja.
Floyd is the name of the once-rumored, now real-life pink ninja who is currently available to fight in Mortal Kombat 1. NetherRealm development lead Ed Boon has teased fans for years by referring to a pink ninja named Floyd, and in 2023 TheThiny Mortal Kombat Data Explorer text was unearthed in the Mortal Kombat 1 files that referred to a character of the same name. However, it is only now, many years later, that Floyd actually appears in Mortal Kombat 1, although the details are unclear.
Warning! The following contains spoilers for Floyd’s secret fight from Mortal Kombat 1:
TheThiny revealed Floyd’s secret fightwhich is preceded by a frigid cutscene in which colorful ninjas appear in beams of airy before landing on our pink friend. The unique text “YOU FOUND FLOYD” will then appear on the screen. The idea is that Floyd is all the Mortal Kombat ninjas rolled into one, a bit like the Chameleon from Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3.
But how do you actually trigger a fight? It’s unclear at this point. TheThiny said the fight was detected after the player completed “a few Floyd challenges and then he showed up. This movie was shot at the Towers.”
How many challenges need to be completed? We’re not sure, but it’s a lot. Is it possible that each time you complete a challenge, the chance of Floyd appearing increases? We’re not sure, but maybe?
Players are still working on Floyd’s moveset, which appears to combine the attacks and abilities of various characters on the roster. Floyd is officially unplayable, but that doesn’t stop data scientists from getting hands-on with the character.
What’s super frigid is that defeating Floyd in this secret fight unlocks a brand novel stage, the attractive Field that players have already noticed comes from the Mortal Kombat 1 announcement trailer.

So, Floyd is featured in Mortal Kombat 1, which means Ed Boon has finally fulfilled his desire to add the character. Sticking with Boon, he teased the T-1000 Fatality, confirmed that Mortal Kombat 1 has sold over five million copies, and perhaps hinted that there will be more DLC characters on the way.
