Boxing is a full-body workout. Deceptively – you just move your arms, how tough can that be, right? But if you throw the punch correctly, you set your whole body in motion. A boxing punch should include a whole set of simultaneous movements involving the legs, torso, arms, AND your arms. Fitness-boxing 3 it can’t offer the same experience as a personal trainer correcting your every move. However, it provides a series of easy-to-learn routines and daily workouts that build into a program that can get you in shape as well as participate in regular group boxing classes.
As the first paragraph shows, I took personal boxing lessons. (Before I took up boxing, I also taught karate professionally for years; I have a black belt in Uechi-Ryū.) So I have a lot of opinions about martial arts training. So it should come as no surprise that I would recommend you attend at least one indoor boxing training session if you want to truly understand how to maximize the benefits of your training. Fitness-boxing 3Virtual coaches won’t be able to tell if you’re hitting incorrectly and not using your entire body as much as you should. In fact, when I missed the game, Fitness-boxing 3 it almost always gave me an “Excellent” or at least “OK” rating; the motion sensitivity of portable Joy-Cons is far from flawless. But since I went to boxing classes in real life, AND I knew when I was doing it right, so I was able to improve my form and get a great workout with the routines in this game.
Let’s say you don’t have the intention, time or energy to take in-person classes. How will it be? Fitness-boxing 3 pay as the only teacher? Well… okay, if a little lifeless. After completing the first few days of daily training in FB3you can choose from a wide range of trainers and unlock different outfits for them over time. You can even decide how much they compliment you during your workout (I personally find this terrifying, although some may find it encouraging – do whatever helps you). They all have somewhat dead eyes and narrowly defined body types (the women especially are miniature) that bear little resemblance to the variety of real people who train boxing in real gyms around the world. The body diversity in my gyms has always inspired me, but again, we assume you won’t go to the gym and this game is what you get.
After a few days FB3 workouts, if you do the exercises correctly (and perhaps even if you don’t), there will be some accompanying muscle pain that illustrates the potential long-term benefits of boxing. The game includes all the standard punches and typical combinations that real boxing instructors will teach their students, and it teaches them much more slowly and methodically than most classes, which is the main advantage of this game (I definitely felt intimidated and failed in my first in-person group class , it was easier, but of course group classes will not take place your rate). You won’t benefit from it FB3 learning how to utilize a punching bag (something that most intramural classes include and provide, along with gloves and hand wraps), but even just air punching for 35 minutes – if you utilize your entire body each time – will leave you sweaty and developing muscle mass in places that many other workouts don’t touch.
Unlike going to the gym and playing FB3 rewards you with various typical gamification systems that keep you logging in day after day; You’ll earn points and unlock trophies for completing various workouts and routines, and your trainer will soon start encouraging you to exercise harder and longer (within reason). If this type of motivation helps you stick to your recent exercise plan, FB3 will hit all the right notes.
Its soundtrack will not. theoretically FB3 is a rhythm game where you punch your fist to the beat of the music playing in the background. Because the Joy-Con’s tracking is so forgiving, it doesn’t really matter, and the game’s music is tedious and forgettable. Once you’ve mastered the standard hits and timing of most combos, turn off the sound and play your own soundtrack. I hit the tempo of my own workout music and still managed to get “Perfect” hits most of the time (and had a lot more fun doing it, because a good workout playlist is half the fun of working out, I say).
The last substantial minus Fitness-boxing 3 is: There is Fitness-boxing 3and that’s it. What I mean is that it’s just boxing. Traditional boxing combinations over and over again. There are many variations to this, but it’s not like a real boxing gym where there are other options – punching the bag, running drills, preparing for sparring sessions, and maybe even adding free weights. This game is just… punching the air. That’s it, every time. And if you’re anything like me, you need more than one type of workout a week or you’ll get bored. (It’s like I have to keep creating recent exercise playlists or I’ll get bored. Same thing.)
Fortunately, the Nintendo Switch has some excellent video games for exercise. A Ring Matching Adventure is a long-time favorite game in our house, as is the Just Dance series. I would also recommend supplementing your home gym with a set of free weights and a copy of Casey Johnston’s book on weightlifting for beginners (Start: from the couch to the barbell).
Fitness-boxing 3 this is another great addition to my current home gym and video game library of exercise options. I was surprised by its versatility. Personally, I gave up boxing when the Covid-19 pandemic hit, and this game reminded me how much I love it – and allowed me to remember it in a plain, accessible way that didn’t make me feel bad about how many years have passed . Whether you’re trying to get back into boxing or you’re recent to the sport, Fitness-boxing 3 will teach you the basics and show you how intensive development can be. It might just inspire you to buy a punching bag… or even go to a place that has a lot more of them.
