Final Fantasy I-VI Collection Anniversary Edition is now available for pre-order

It’s taken a while, but you can finally order physical copies of Final Fantasy Pixel Remastered games from brick-and-mortar stores. Final Fantasy I-VI Collection Anniversary Edition is set to launch on October 8 for Switch and PS4 (don’t worry, the PS4 version will work just fine on PS5). It’ll cost $74.99, but it includes souped-up versions of the first six main Final Fantasy games. It also comes with a sticker sheet, so that’s something.

There are no other editions (apart from digital versions), so it’s worth getting this version.

Final Fantasy I-VI Anniversary Edition Collection Bonus

As a bonus, anyone who buys this collection will receive a sticker sheet. It contains 12 round stickers with delightful sprites of characters from the games. There is a black mage, a moogle, Terra, Kain, and even Kefka on his back laughing his signature laugh.

What is included in the Final Fantasy I-VI collection?

The collection features pixelated remasters of the first six Final Fantasy games. Rather than making major visual changes like Square Enix has sometimes done in the past, the graphics in these editions are tastefully updated to look good on contemporary displays. They retain the pixelated look but are visually cleaner and look great whether you’re playing on a giant TV or in handheld mode.

The soundtracks have received major orchestral upgrades, with the fresh versions overseen by original composer Nobuo Uematsu. They’ve also ironed out some of the originals’ annoying quirks, and added quality-of-life options like disabling random encounters and increasing experience and gil earned. Overall, there’s not much to complain about, even for picky fans.
