As part of the June 2024 Nintendo Direct announcement, the Fantasian RPG, previously exclusive to Apple Arcade, will be coming to Nintendo Switch in time for the holiday season. It’s called Fantasian: Neo Dimension and is the latest game from developer Mistwalker, headed by Final Fantasy series creator Hironobu Sakaguchi. Fantasian is a full-fledged, story-driven RPG with turn-based combat and featuring music by longtime Final Fantasy composer Nobuo Uematsu.
One of Fantasian’s unique features is that its environments were initially designed as a physical diorama before being created for the game. Features unique combat mechanics that take into account enemy positioning and the space around combat arenas. There’s also a sharp implementation of random encounter handling, which allows you to essentially stock up on random encounters and deal with them in one fell swoop, easing interruptions to exploration. Fantasian: Neo Dimension will also release on PlayStation and Xbox consoles and PC via Steam and will feature significant visual improvements.
