Fallout: London may not be official Fall game developed and published by Bethesda, but it was still a huge hit. And this massive free mod, released last month, just got its first major update, which fixes some things and nerfs the deadly fox packs running around post-apocalyptic London.
After a long wait and last minute delay due to gigantic Fallout 4 update, Fallout: London launched free of charge on July 25“The Game” is technically a free fan-made mod Fallout 4 on PC, but it looks more like a novel game from Bethesda. And while the reception Fallout: London was generally positive, with complaints about game crashes and annoying bugs. But a recently released update should support stabilize the mod.
August 9 Good Old Games, which is working with mod creators to distribute Fallout: London, confirmed in a press release that the first major update for the game is now live. It was also confirmed that over 500,000 copies of the mod were downloaded in the first 24 hours.
One thing I noticed right away in the long patch notes is that foxes have been slightly nerfed in this update. This is good news for crowd, many players who complained about being attacked AND killed by those little furry bastards during the game Fallout: London.
Some fans started joking that they were worse than the infamous characters of the series Claws of DeathI wouldn’t go that far, but a pack of foxes can kill you quickly if they appear at the wrong time, such as after a fight or when you’re low on ammo.
Another positive change is the reduction of rad damage per second while swimming in water in the game. Previously, it was an incredibly high 250 rads per second, which basically meant you died every time you slipped into water. Now London the water only deals 169 rads per second, which is still enough to be cautious about, but not enough to cause instant death if you slip off the platform.
All these changes seem good to me and I can’t wait to get back to them Fallout: London soon. Hopefully it will stop crashing for me too. Here are the full patch notes for this update:
