Even though the Spiritborn from Diablo 4 was attacked with nuclear weapons, it is still one of the strongest classes in Season 7

We now know almost everything about the Season of Spells in Diablo 4, the game’s upcoming seventh season. Blizzard recently revealed all the recent content and major changes coming to the game with the recent season.

Last night, the Diablo team hosted their first livestream of the year, where they delved a little deeper into some of the details regarding class balance, gameplay improvements, and many of the updates since the December PTR.

Rebalancing classes is always one of the most engaging aspects of each recent season of Diablo 4. Season of Spells is no exception, and that’s especially true here as it’s the first season in which the recent Spiritborn class will see some major changes.

Spiritborn is a class introduced with the Vessel of Hatred expansion. Its launch coincided with the start of Season 6, so the class hasn’t spent enough time in player hands yet to justify any major changes to how it plays.

However, once people started playing with it, it became clear that it was by far the most powerful class of the season. Even apart from the stupid exploits that players used in the early days (before they were fixed), the sheer power of the different versions of Spiritborn simply puts it a notch above the rest.

Rather than change this meta mid-season, Blizzard opted to allow players to play with the Spiritborn, but cautioned that much of what players relied on to create their room clearing builds would be adjusted in Season 7.

Well, we’re now a few days away from the end of Season 6 and the beginning of Season 7, and the Spiritborn has indeed had a significant portion of its power stripped away. The only surprise? Still looks like one of the most powerful classes!

Spiritborn was already robust in Patch 2.1 PTR, and Blizzard hasn’t made any major changes for this iteration – other than fixing a few unintended synergies that caused power spikes in Season 6. That said, Razor Wings builds will have a recent Unique to play with, as well as a recent aspect , which should make this build more profitable.

On the other hand, the Wizard proved to be the weakest class on the Season 7 PTR, so Blizzard buffed several of its passive skills. Searing Heat and Glacier are two items from the Legendary Paragon that have also gained a lot of love, mainly to ensure compatibility with a wider range of builds. Sorcerers are also getting two Uniques this season that appear to be designed to build lightning.

Elsewhere in the patch, other classes received some tweaks of their own. Druid has seen what may be his most impactful change ever. The early game of this class is traditionally characterized by tardy resource regeneration. Season 7 smoothes that curve, thanks in part to some updates to Spirit Boon. Blurred Beast has been (reworked) to lend a hand with devastating builds as well.

The Ancient Barbarian’s Hammer has been buffed again, which should nicely complement the power provided by the recent unique chest added to the game – for all your earthquake needs. Whirlwind also received some numerical improvements.
