Although he did not again impose on Metroidvania Koło, Ender Magnolia: Bloom in the fog successfully rests on his predecessor, Lilies Ender: Quietus of the Knights to create a powerful observation. Action packages more strategy allows for a deeper strategy, and the world is probably better looking. Although he lacks certain innovations of the quality of life from newer contemporary, fans of the series and enthusiasts of the genre have another solid option to scratch the platform of the action.
Surprised long after the events of Ender Lilia, Ender Magnolia stands out, combining cold industrial aesthetics with magical fantasy. As a lilac, talented and amnesia, you will cooperate with homunculi (artificial life forms) to fight the fallen kingdom, from slums to the peak of the social hierarchy. Ender Magnolia’s knowledge is more intriguing than its plot. I liked the absorption of contextual notes and talking to my Homunculi partners – including a mysterious masked sword and former aristocrat trapped in the spider’s body – more than the story itself. While the pursuit of recovering memories while saving the world from a magical ailment is useful, it does not aid that seeing its real ending (after this you will most likely encounter a false “bad” conclusion) requires the performance of committed and irritating unclear series of steps.

As in the case of Lily in the last game, Lilac will not sullied his hands in the battle (after all, he is a child). Instead, he allows his Homunculi party to deal with the fight for him. My favorites are amnesiac colleagues, Nola, who performs skillful attacks in the miniature circuit, and a shy masked warrior who hits the enemies with his gigantic mechanical fist. Some homunculi are autonomously attacking, like a little girl associated with the throne, which pulsates harmful shock waves, wherever she is placed. Other homunculi give exploration skills, such as climbing and shooting to the internet line to close the designated perch. Although I used some homunculi more than others, it was usually preferences. They are all useful in their unique way, and trying different combinations gives fun synergies.
Homunculi also has two or three variants of the attack. For example, Nola can rule a sword, scythe or ax, and each weapon behaves differently and has unique statistics. The fiery blow of the gap can reject enemies in a straight line, but I also like its jump down, which surrounds the goals in ice, especially those under me. This free approach to the fight includes how to assign to four homunculi to a dedicated button; The most ergonomic system means comfortable performing many attacks at the same time. Mapping the attack of the gun scattering homunculi on the shoulder button kept the face button to free the attacks at the same time; I liked the optimization of this multitasking. Connect the aforementioned self -competing homunculi, and the fight sings when I release the full weight of my party to destroy the defense of the enemy and finish them.
Equipping Lila with a confined number of relics, clothing and accessories means that you can create many specialized compilations. You can focus on passive recovery of HP, maximizing the amount of currency resources/updates, or build around causing a penalty through status effects. I have never settled in the comfort zone with my equipment; Whenever I hit a tough enemy, of which there are many, a trip to the recording room, to configure my equipment again, usually solved the problem.
The huge, extensive map of Ender Magnolia begins to feel tiring in the back. It is not always clear where the main goal is. From the very beginning you can deeply traverse many areas, making it easier to lose the thread on a given task. It became frustrating when I wanted to focus on the critical path, because I wasn’t always sure if I was going rightly. I am also disappointed that the map only contains the BABELONES markers that look the same, so you still have to remember what you will mark. Considering some tasks, they require repetition of some characters again, some of which move, maintaining everything elementary are more troublesome than necessary (especially after the fantastic function of The Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown’s Fantastic Screenshot). At least monuments along the way look like a book about art, offering pretty 2D visualizations and striking locations, such as an underground laboratory, a charming scarlet forest and a affluent magic academy.
Ender Magnolia is a solid second effort for this series and although the exploration is prolonged and sometimes misleading, the fight raises its game in a huge style. Although this is not a gigantic leap forward, it establishes another good trip in this hidden jewel from the Metroidvania series.
