When it comes to publishers, Kemco is one of those that taps into a surprisingly robust niche. They are adept at bringing JRPG action to mobile devices, which means that every time I see their name, I know to expect something fun. They have once again unveiled a great up-to-date addition to their mobile catalog as Eldgear joins the lineup.
Eldgear is an SRPG – the S stands for strategic if you’re not familiar – where you command not only your hero, but also a wider party on an open map. Think about a mix of tactical turn-based strategy and a more typical RPG. You’ll have fun maximizing your team’s capabilities while also being able to change your approach on the open battlefield.
To facilitate you out, you also have two specific skill types for Eldgear. EMA (Embedding Skills) and EXA (Expanding Skills) give you multiple ways to approach battle, allowing you to experiment and see which one suits you best. Unlike other Kemco releases, it doesn’t appear that Eldgear will include a free demo, but it is already available on iOS and Android!
Old gears
Kemco definitely left a gigantic impression on me. I certainly know what to expect when I see their name attached to a game. Admittedly, it’s a bit of a shame that curious players can’t try out the Eldgear demo, but I’m sure gamers hungry for SRPGs are looking forward to it.
