Elden Ring Players Torment Old Boss After Mastering DLC

Published:

A lot Ring of Fire players are having problems with a recently released game The shadow of the Erd tree expansion. The DLC, which takes place in a completely recent region, includes boss’s glove challenging as nails and a brand recent leveling system that raised the bar for people, perhaps even a little too high. However, many are starting to finish the expansion and return to the base game, and many of them are taking a break to show off against a particular boss.

The following contains spoilers for the ending of Elden Ring.

When you get close to the end Ring of FireIn the base game, one of the final mandatory fights is against Sir Gideon Ofnir the All-Knowing, an NPC who is allied with the player character for most of the game. In his quest to rise to become the Elden Lord, he naturally comes to blows with Gideon, who usually offers advice at the Roundtable Hold — the meeting place of the other Tarnished — even though he is secretly a rat who wants to prevent anyone from taking the throne. In low, he is in for a beating. He doesn’t put up a particularly good fight, though.

Even on a first playthrough, Gideon is a bit of a sucker. His fight is immediately preceded by a much more epic and challenging fight with Godfrey/Horah Loux, making Gideon a sort of appetizer to sharpen the palette before the series Really challenging boss fights that complete the whole Ring of Fire. Gideon is a lean, gaunt figure whose appearance betrays only that he is a nerd who knows a lot of spells that he can utilize against you. However, he is mostly lacking in stamina and, anecdotally speaking, is a bit of a joke. I guess that’s why Ring of Fire players love showing off their newfound skills and weapons to him after the game is over The shadow of the Erd treeis a much more arduous content.

There are several clips circulating on the web, including a particularly brutal one in which a player is absolutely impales Gideon on the Great Sword of Condemnation. They basically follow the same formula: the player approaches Gideon, who starts his spiel before being almost immediately obliterated. Some clips are a bit longer than others, but in most cases, veterans returning from the Shadowlands with recent weapons and abilities wipe the floor with them, and that’s unusually witty.

People are having a lot of fun putting all sorts of recent weapons into Gideon. Some are using elemental perfume to completely melt the guy in one hit, while a random TikTok I came across showed the guy using a recent melee to stun him. Perhaps the funniest clip features a immense hammer being swung around and eventually hitting the guy in the head, at which point it shatters.

It’s great to see players at the top after weeks of hearing about it all how arduous is the DLCIt seems like they’re taking out that pent-up frustration on Gideon now, and there’s clearly a precedent for that. Players were clearly expecting to kill Gideon with the recent DLC weapon and skills that were presented in The shadow of the Erd tree‘S first trailerbut even before that, it was customary to kill the guy in the most humiliating way possible. First, players came up with overly powerful builds, but eventually modders started decimating Gideon with everything from weapons to Jujutsu KaisenGojo Satoru.

In summary: eat shit, Gideon.
