If you want one platform to play games at home and in motion, Nintendo Switch has your back. Even better, if you are a Sonic fan: since the Switch arrived in 2017, Sega worked like Clockwork to consistently release Sonic games on a hybrid console. Last year we have Sonic X Shadow Generations next to the movie Sonic The Hedgehog 3, so you can safely say that Sega Speedster is bigger than ever.
Now that Switch 2 has been officially launched, it is almost guaranteed more Sonic games. Another gigantic edition, Sonic Racing: Crossworlds, starts in the original system, but when we go in the direction of 2-fingers, some good reverse compatibility means that existing Sonic games are not going anywhere.
For anyone who wants to check the contemporary era of Sonic (and friends), here are all Sonic the Hedgehog games that you can play now, as well as the upcoming Sonic games on Switch 2.

Sonic upcoming games on Switch
2024 was a great year for Sonic fans between the release of a fresh game (Sonic X Shadow Generations) and Sonic the Hedgehog 3). The upcoming game Sonic, Sonic Racing: Crossworlds, was announced during 2024 Game Awards and is to be released on Switch (as well as PC, PS5 and Xbox) on September 25.
The game continues the Sonic Racing team in 2019, covering the full set of Sonic characters, as well as fresh crossover drivers such as Joker, Hatsune Miku and Steve from Minecraft.
