That’s because the modern football simulator is only available on current-gen platforms, PS5 and Xbox Series X/S. On PlayStation, it’s pretty elementary. PS5 games don’t work on PS4. They also look different. But Xbox is a mess. Microsoft currently sells or has sold the Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S, Xbox One X, Xbox One S, and even the base Xbox One at one point. So it’s no wonder so many Xbox players leave negative reviews online after buying a game and realizing they can’t play it.
“I have an Xbox One X. I did some research and saw that the X/S and One can use Series X games, but it won’t even let me play. It says it’s not compatible and you can’t even return the item because once you open the package it’s useless and is considered used. I’ve been waiting so long for this game and played the old ones, only to find out I spent $75 on a game I can’t play,” said one Amazon user.
“I don’t play video games, but my son wanted this game so I bought it for him. Now it doesn’t work and I spent $65 on it,” someone said on Reddit.
“I need to return this but I don’t have the right Xbox,” someone wrote on Walmart’s website.
On the Target store page dedicated to this gamethere are tons of questions about which Xbox console it will work on, which has a disc drive and which doesn’t, whether the digital version will work on previous-generation computers, and so on.
This is a really confusing situation
