EA sports’ College Football 25 marks the return of the beloved sports simulation series, and according to Andrew Wilson, CEO of Electronic Arts, the game could not have been created without the developers’ employ of technologies based on machine learning and artificial intelligence.
Wilson later he explained these commentssaying that the player likenesses — which he called “heads” — and stadiums weren’t generated solely by AI and machine learning. EA’s “very talented artists” supplemented that algorithmic work, tweaking and improving the player likenesses, Wilson said, as opposed to “having to go through full head development programs.”
“Without AI, we simply wouldn’t be able to deliver College football at the level that we did, even though we devoted many, many years to developing the team,” Wilson concluded.
“It was a decision we made because we were really building a franchise for the future,” Wilson said. “It was the first time we’d done it in 10 years, and the level of gameplay and the level of visual fidelity that we achieved was a combination of years of work from our incredible teams augmented and accelerated by AI that we simply couldn’t have done just two or three years ago.”
Reliance on AI and machine learning will not be narrow to College Football 25Wilson noted. EA’s CEO said the continuation of this year’s EA Sports FC 24the successor to the FIFA series, will also employ artificial intelligence technology.
“After a historic brand relaunch that was enthusiastically received by players, fans and partners around the world, EA Sports FC 25 “It will be a giant step forward,” Wilson said.KF 25 “will feature greater innovation, more realistic and authentic gameplay, driven by improved tactics using artificial intelligence and data from the real world of football.”
