Dying lithe He is ten years elderly, for the first time he hit the stage in January 2015. However, he would not land on Nintendo Switch until October 2021, arriving on the hybrid console carefully connected with DLC to Platinum. It seems that horror fans cannot have enough zombies or survival, because when they both meet, you usually get something pleasant, as evidenced by the success of the dying lithe and co -founder Horror King Resident Evil.
It is not surprising that Dying Light’s popularity rejected the continuation, with Dying Light 2 Stay Human Release in 2022 and the third game from the series, Dying Light: The Beast, which is to be launched this year. When the series ends with ten and another entry on the horizon, we only had to catch up with the director of Franchise Dying Light, Tymon Smektala to talk about what died.
We had a lot to ask Smektal, from lessons that the team learned over the past decade, to challenges related to the transfer of such games to a tiny screen, and we even turned to one of the elephants in the room – no zombie lithe 2 and his fight, two points competition in the community.
Infection, dying fans of lithe when we discuss the past and gift of the most popular zombie games.
Pocket tactics: What have you learned in the last ten years? What helps to die lithe to stand out from the crowd?
The first lesson concerns the player’s freedom – that’s really all. Regardless of whether it is parkour, fight or making decisions in Dying Light 2: Stay man, give players a tool to shape your own experiences makes the dying lithe so extremely releasing.
What distinguishes the dying lithe from other zombies is a glossy mix of movement, close -cuts and survival. Our Parkour system in the first person is not just a trick-only changes how players interact with the world. Add to this our active cycle of the day and night, in which the infected takes place from a possible hazardous threat to the terrifying force, and you will get a game that seems really alive. This balance between action, tension and freedom has been dying for years, and we are constantly learning how to make it better and better in our games.
The first game of dying lithe has become a cult classic over the past decade, paving the path of many other games in this genre. Did you expect him to start as he did? Are there any special moments or memories of the last ten years you would like to share?
I don’t think any of us can predict how huge the dying lithe will be. We believed in the game, but seeing how the community accepted it so with passion was really special.
One of my favorite memories was when we saw players break the game in a way that we never expected – like combining crazy parking movements or using weapons in a way we didn’t expect. Another unforgettable moment was our super cranes Prima Aprilis, in which we temporarily gave players comical superpowers. It was a great fun that we had to restore its elements later because of the demand for players.
Oh, did I mention the hunt for Easter eggs? Our games are filled with hidden secrets, and checking online after releasing whether players discovered them all is as fun for us as for them. Observing how players look through every corner to find these surprises never aging.
The support we have received over the years – from the art of fans to speedruns to social challenges – was amazing. The dying lithe is not only a game for many people; This experience and this means that continuing building in this universe is so satisfying.
How do the restrictions/limitations of the zombie survival species encourage you to innovation?
Restrictions force creativity. The species of zombie survival has been examined so many times that you need to find ways to feel fresh. For us, this meant focusing on movement and struggle in the first person in the first person as basic pillars. Instead of making another shooter, we created the first Parkour Survival Game person, in which the vertical and passage are just as critical as the fight.
We also pushed the boundaries of our daytime and night system. In many zombies, the level of danger remains unchanging, but in the dying lithe the world changes after dim, which makes it a completely different experience. And with dying lithe: the beast again introduces innovations, introducing modern enemy behavior, weather effects that affect the gameplay, and even evolving our fight to feel more brutal and grounded.
When the team moved the dying lithe to Nintendo Switch, what were the biggest challenges to overcome?
Moving the dying lithe to Nintendo Switch was a huge technical challenge. The game was originally designed for high -class equipment, so moving it to a manual device required complete rework of some systems.
One of the biggest obstacles was – of course – the optimization of Parkour liquidity and fighting while maintaining a stable number of frames per second. We had to carefully adjust the quality of texture, lighting and draw distances so that the game was great without dedication. Another challenge was to improve the control so that the game was natural on the switch.
Despite the technical restrictions, we were proud of what we achieved, and showed us that the dying lithe can work well on portable platforms – something we remember for the future.
Some players are afraid that focusing from zombies in Dying Light 2, and the game focused more on the survivors. However, in the last press release you explained that your “latest main rebrand is aimed at establishing a franchise as the best zombie in all future projects.” As such, are you going to restore zombies back to the forefront, or are you pushing forward with a greater focus on the human apocalyptic element?
Zombies have always been the heart of the dying lithe and we are fully involved in restoring them back to the fore. When dying lithe 2: Stay Human studied the human aspect of survival, dying lithe: the beast is a return to the core of survival of horror – more intense, more terrifying and infected as the main threat. We want to master the zombie archetype: how they move, how they behave, how they sound and how they challenge the player.

Similarly, many players said that the fight in Dying Light 2 was not so comical compared to the original, but you said that you were going to introduce dying lithe: the beast back to the roots of the series. How are you going to do it?
Fight in the dying lithe: the beast will be more hard, brutal, physical and – I hope – more satisfying. We have corrected feedback from weapons, introduced more variable finishing movements and converted the reactions of enemy hits so that every attack was influential.
We also restore survival, thanks to which the fight is more desperate and intense than purely oriented. And of course, like every game dying lithe, this is expanding Arsenal players can rule – I’m sure everyone will appreciate the flamethrower in the zombie game, right?
Dying Light: The beast receives the action to the franchise of his favorite Kyle Crane. How do you make sure that players get involved with him after ten years?
Kyle Crane is a legendary figure in the dying universe of lithe, but we make sure that the dying lithe: the beast is also available to newcomers. The game introduces Crane in a way that allows modern players to connect with him without having to play the first game.
His journey is survival, transformation and revenge – common topics that everyone can relate to. He helps here that he was out of the world, he has been captured in captivity for 13 years, which means that he sees him with fresh eyes – just like a modern player.
Looking to the future, can we expect a dying lithe: the beast on Nintendo Switch 2?
We are always looking for modern possibilities of dying lithe on various platforms. Although we do not plan to share, the idea of dying lithe: The beast on a modern generation device is certainly intriguing.
Will the dying lithe: the beast will be compatible with PC conveyors?
It is too early to announce something, but we will make every effort to make the dying lithe: the beast works smoothly on PC devices such as a steam deck. Both dying lithe works great on a steam board and I can’t imagine why dying lithe: the beast would be different.
Boy, it’s a lot to unpack, huh? We can’t thank Smektala enough for his time and we certainly can’t wait to see if the dying lithe: the beast finds a place for Nintendo Switch 2. As long -term fans of the series, we can’t wait to see what the future will bring, and we enjoy that the beast returns to these survival of horrors with abundance of zombies; This time we can pull them out with fire!
