Dragon Ball: Sparking Zero when it launched last year, it seemed a bit meaty. The first DLC pack will partially remedy this. Bandai Namco has revealed that 11 up-to-date playable characters will be joining the arena battle later this month, including all of Gohan and Piccolo’s forms from the latest Dragon Ball movie, Superhero.
Early access to DLC1 for season pass owners begins on January 20. We don’t have a separate price yet, but the full season pass for all three starter DLC packs costs $35, which suggests it will be at least $15 for those who only own the base game. Here’s everything that’s included:
- 4 Gohans (Basic, SS, Ultimate, Beast)
- 4 Piccolo (Basic, Awakened, Orange, Giant)
- 2 gammas (base and form 2)
- Max cell
- New little costume
- 3 custom battles
Not including all of Gohan and Piccolo’s transformations in the base game may seem skimpy, but fans are content to finally get them. “I DON’T CARE IF IT’S NOT A COMPETITIVE GAME. THIS IS THE MOST BEAUTIFUL DRAGON BALL GAME OF ALL,” wrote one of the players in the comments to the trailer on YouTube.
In addition to the first DLC, Bandai Namco also announced the upcoming limited-time Legendary Warrior Face-Off mode, which will pit players against overpowered AI-controlled opponents. The first of them will face Broly. While it’s not entirely clear how this mode will work (or why it will only be in use for a while), players are interpreting it as a fighting game equivalent to an MMO raid, similar to the events of Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2.
Otherwise, our main focus will be on including all the characters and transformations presented in 2022 Dragon Ball Super: Superhero, which gave both Gohan and Piccolo massive boosts to face Cell’s return. DLC2 and DLC3, while not fully revealed, teased further additions Super Dragon Ball and new Daima from the Dragon Ball anime series that recently began streaming on Crunchyroll – features the Z warriors transformed back into children.
