Dragon Age: Veilguard’s final patch sounds like it could be the game’s last major update, as Bioware says “Dareth Shiral!”

Dragon Age: The latest Veilguard patch sounds like it could be the game’s last major update, based on the wording BioWare uses in the notes.

This latest one is the fifth post-release patch that Veilguard has gotten since it came out slow October last year, and while they’ve been mostly about fixes and bug fixes, BioWare has also used these updates, which can be added in things like this extra gear for the effect mass.

This time, however, the BioWare announcement included with the summary of changes is a bit fascinating. “Thank you all for playing Dragon Age: The Veilguard,” he wrote – “We were very pleased with the game’s stability at launch and hope you’ve enjoyed our quality of life patches since then.

“Since the game is in a stable place, we are moving to monitor for any game-breaking bugs.

Dareth Shiral, in case you’re not a master of the Elvish language, means “farewell” or more literally “safe journey.” Could this be the end of major Veilguard updates, with a Manfred-esque skeleton crew left to sort out any massive issues that arise from here on out? It’s not 100% clear, but it sounds like it.

VG247 has reached out to EA for comment.

As for Patch 5, it includes several bug fixes, apart from one quality of life change, which is that “recommended levels have been added to side quests that players can obtain at much lower levels.”

Bug fixes are as follows:

  • Fixed an issue where Rook could only flirt with Lucanis in a specific conversation.
  • Fixed an issue with regret where the Dread Wolf quest doesn’t start properly or doesn’t stop the tower with an concealed wall at an intersection.
  • Fixed an issue with puzzles getting stuck in Converging Crossroads City.
  • Fixed an issue with Empire armor causing negative damage instead of the intended zero fire, chilly, necrotic, and electrical damage.
  • Fixed excessive clipping in Taash’s “Rivain” armor.
  • Fixed an issue that prevented some towers from changing runes to the Lyrium Dagger.
  • Fixed an issue with Medium Armor Mastery skills for warriors.
  • Fixed a spot on Rivaina Beach where a tower could get stuck in a drowning cycle, never being pulled out of the water by its companions.
  • Fixed a typo on the note Age can find in Dock Town.
  • Fixed an issue that caused screenshots in Photo Mode to be visibly lower quality when HDR was passed “on”.
  • Fixed an issue that caused the location of screenshots in Photo Mode to still be displayed on the screen.
  • Fixed an issue that caused the fireflies in the intersection opening area to flicker at an alarming rate in certain settings.
  • Fixed a lighting issue in one of the team-wide conversations in the lighthouse.
  • Fixed an issue in the transformation mirror that blocked players from zooming in and out of the mouse scroll wheel.
  • Fixed an issue where objective marker visibility did not update when presets were changed along with other options in the Explore subcategory.
  • Some game credit adjustments.

Earlier this week, EA revealed that Veilguard – along with the footy Behemoth EA Sports FC 25 – “underperformed” its expectations. Are you hoping this latest Dragon Age entry will get more updates? Let us know below.
