The Democracy Space Station in Helldivers 2 may be causing some problems at the moment, as its orbital barriers are blowing up as many Helldivers as they are bots and bugs, but there’s some good news. Arrowhead says the matter is ongoing and has now introduced an interim solution to aid develop an appropriate resolution.
The DSS had quite high expectations to cope with a major galactic war. So hopefully this means that the wave of bad reviews from exploding divers, followed by a wave of initial positivity, will make DSS a good thing again.

As part of its efforts to implement this change, Arrowhead has just announced a “temporary DSS buff” via Twitter. “High Command has authorized upgrades to the Helldiver’s equipment while the Tactical Planetary Bombardment Action is active,” he writes, “in order to mitigate the unexpected surge in heroic casualties.
“This is a temporary change while a full assessment of the optimal number of sacrifices takes place. Please refer to the DSS interface on the Galaxy Map for more details.”

Shortly before revealing this short-lived solution, Arrowhead Community Manager Twinbeard, in response to player inquiries on the Helldivers 2 Discord server, admitted that the studio was aware of the issue and was considering what action it should take regarding DSS.
“There were tests and I don’t think the pressure was too much,” they wrote in one of their replies. “It’s better to just admit the fact that the first incarnation of DSS didn’t do as well as we wanted it to, and I worked hard to rework it and improve it. We will learn from this and I am sure there is a lot of discussion going on at the moment. This is not the end of DSS to improve and evolve.”
