Donkey Kong Bananza DK Island and Emerald Rush DLC Review – not all banana

Verdict

This DLC DLC DLC Kong offer is an absolute feast for fans of Roguelike and Roguelite games. However, the uncommon DK island and little to do except Emerald Rush mode, combined with the price of USD 20, make it a pack of content for people who are not really desperate for more time with a huge monkey.

Of all the things I expected from Nintendo Direct Nintendo, Dlak dlc donkey kong banana It wasn’t on my list. Despite the DLC add -ons to the last SPlatoon and Pokémon games, I never anticipate more content from Nintendo, often to avoid hope. So when I saw DK facial featherlight, mine did the same, willingly spending more time on the platform and powdering on my Nintendo Switch 2.

To get speed, I gave the basic game 10/10 in our original review Donkey Kong Banana, calling it “the first masterpiece of Nintendo Switch 2” before I immediately added it to our guide to the best Switch games. A few months later and I follow this result, but I did not visit the game again, collecting all fossils, outfits and jewels of a banandium.

What does this DLC consist of? Well, on the island of DK on the island of DK there is a fresh area and fresh game mode in Emerald Rush. Although there is a relationship between them, I intend to approach each part of DLC individually, because at least if I walk, there are some bay between individual parts.

Let’s start with Emerald Rush. I love it. Now I am a bit biased because I love Roguelike games, and Nintendo made several ideas from this genre in Emerald Rush. The history of the fresh mode is that Void Kong returns, but is not looking for trouble. Instead, he wants to hire Donkey Kong as an emerald miner and willingly rewards a charming monkey for his work.

The Emerald Rush is divided into 99-second rounds, and you have an emerald limit to find each round. Shiny green jewels appear wherever gold in the basic game, so there is a lot to be found in barrels, enemies and veins. Fossils that reset each gear unlock the benefits that augment the number of emeralds that you get depending on the source, the banana form that you apply at this time or other factors. Banandium jewels, which also reset each time, can pack banana forms and skill improvements, as well as additional emeralds and banana chips.

On the subject of Bananza Emerald Rush wipes your pure skills, so you start every round with three health and without an improved sonar or surfing force. You can update in flight using a banandium chips in the skill menu, but sometimes this is not the best option, because some benefits reward you for gathering chips or not unlocking any banana forms. Emerald Rush constantly throws decisions at you and although they may feel ethereal in the first few rounds, every advantages make a difference until flies.

For some time I wasn’t sure how I enjoyed the emerald rush mode. Then, before I realized, I spent four hours, trying to overcome my high results, creating really broken compilations. At one point I invested strongly in profits, which increased the number of emeralds, which I earned in the form of ostrich banana and from breaking the crocids, to the extent that I could earn on the next round, taking several Crockoid monsters on the beach DK Island with an assassination. It’s Donkey Kong Banana in the most disordered and I can’t get it.

Despite my love for emerald rush, I am ready to admit that it is not perfect. It seems that Nintendo has designed the island of DK especially for the fresh game mode, but it is not so fluid in other layers, such as the lagoon layer or the feast layer, which can make the early game arduous. I also had several runs in which I chose the improvements of Kong Banana-Adjacen, but you will realize that Kong Banana update was not available anywhere on the map. It seems that the game should be bright enough to turn off the improvements related to a specific form of banana, if I can’t apply it during this particular run, so I don’t waste valuable and narrow updates from finding fossils and a banandium jewels.

While I am a substantial fan of the Emerald Rush, and I can already see how I double my current game time in the game mode, the island of DK itself is a bit disappointing. This is a pretty enough miniature nostalgia to check DK’s Treehouse and the rest of the island, but it just seems a bit empty, with a lack of fresh fossils or a banandium jewels to hunt outside Emerald Rush. However, there is something fresh to collect, because you can replace 100 Banandium chips from Squawks for a parrot for statues that include various fractions that you encountered in the main mission of icons from the Donkey Kong series.

These statues are pretty chilly and make the island of DK feel a little more addictive, almost like a museum after playing, but there is also a minus. If you are not a fan of the emerald rush mode that rewards you with the banandium chips, it will not last much longer for the chips to unlock fresh statues. For me, this is not a problem, because I have already spent over ten hours playing Emerald Rush, but if you are not a fan, it almost makes the DK island a bit.

If I am wearing my cynical hat – and this is one of my favorite hats – I wonder why Emerald Rush mode was not part of the original game. While Donkey Kong Bananza offered a lot of content after the game, this is not unbelievably reproducible, in this way I would describe Emerald Rush. It’s very similar to cherry upstairs, and although I am personally ready to part with more money, it seems to me that some may feel a bit shortened, and the complete experience of Donkey Kong Banana pushes the best part of 100 USD.

To sum up, the island DK DK DK DK and Emerald Rush DLC is fantastic for a kind of player who happens, but it may be a bit lacking for others. Considering the 20 USD price point, what, I know, it is the same as Hollow Knight: Silksong, I regret that there was no more for DK Island to be pop. Having said that, I still can’t have enough emerald rush, which adds a playback factor, which was somewhat lacking after gathering everything you can collect.
