Dodgeball Dojo is a up-to-date anime-inspired family card game now available on iOS

  • Dodgeball Dojo is a up-to-date translation of the classic East Asian card game “The Big Two” for mobile devices
  • Turn? This release is full of beautifully rendered, anime-like graphics
  • Premiere on January 29, for both Android and iOS

It seems like there’s no shortage of anime-inspired mobile releases these days. A little surprise, considering all the Japanese exports, it is one of the most popular. Many studios offer their own take on the medium, such as today’s Dodgeball Dojo.

Showing my lack of worldliness here, I initially thought the term “Big Two” was a reference to a popular anime series. However, pusoy dos, as it is known abroad, will be familiar to many of our East Asian readers. It is a relatively elementary card game in which you have to create increasingly higher combinations, so it can be transferred to the digital world.

Of course, this doesn’t mean that Dodgeball Dojo has no anime inspiration at all. As described above, from the cel-shaded style to the abundance of striking character designs that wouldn’t look out of place in the pages of Shonen Jump, if you’re a fan of Japan’s greatest cultural export, you’ll feel right at home here.

Dodge!

Dodgeball Dojo also offers multiplayer gameplay and the ability to host private tournaments for friends or family. You can also unlock signature athletes with their own playing style, unlock different stadiums, and more. Dodgeball Dojo will be available on both iOS and Android on January 29, so keep your eyes (and hands) open!
