Disney is reportedly considering a surprise successor to Bob Iger: EA CEO Andrew Wilson

The Disney entertainment empire needs a novel CEO, and a novel report suggests the job could be filled by a familiar face from the gaming world.

Andrew Wilson, the always impeccably dressed CEO of EA, is reportedly being considered for the top job at Disney. It’s a massive move in the entertainment world, with potential ramifications for fans of Pixar and Marvel, as well as The Sims, Battlefield and Dragon Age. Iger’s current contract runs through 2026, so it could be a while before anyone has to print novel business cards.

IGN has reached out to EA for comment on this matter.

The report came from Wall Street Journalwho added that Wilson is competing against at least two other outside candidates to replace current CEO Bob Iger. Iger retired in 2020, but barely had time to take up fishing before returning in 2022 when his successor, Bob Chapek, was forced out of office.

As for Wilson, he has worked at EA for 24 years, including 11 as CEO. On EA’s latest earnings call, Wilson revealed Apex Legends probably won’t get a sequeland that’s what Bioware has in his eyes returned to its strengths with Dragon Age.
