The original Epic Mickey game was released in November 2010 and follows Mickey as he enters a world of “forgotten things”, concept art and cartoon animations that never made it to the screen. The levels are loosely based on locations at the Disneyland theme park, and Mickey will be tormented by Shadow Blot, a creature he created but based on Phantom Blot, Mickey’s antagonist in his original comics. A sequel, Epic Mickey 2: The Power of Two, was released in 2012.
In our review of the original Disney Epic Mickey, Dan said: “I am bitterly, bitterly disappointed with my summary of the last ten hours. At its core, DEM is a solid game, teetering between genius and mediocrity, while still being mired in a camera system that’s fundamentally broken. Disney fans will find a lot to love as it is full fan service and there is a good story to enjoy. “
