Devolver Digital and All Possible Futures have officially announced that The brave squire is coming to PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch on September 17. After two years of teasers and gameplay trailers, it’s time to dive into this charming, storybook adventure.
The trailer also includes an introduction to the story and some brief, polished gameplay elements to enhance the fun.
The brave squire the charm comes from the colorful, cartoonish art style and the switch from 2D to 3D gameplay. Playing as the hero of our fairy tale story, Jot, you’ll embark on a magical adventure with your friends to return to your book and defeat the story’s villain, Humgrump. When Humgrump throws you out of the story and throws Mojoland into chaos, you’ll have to find your way back, using the “real” world and the book’s functions to save the day.
The game also features a peculiar change in art style as you switch from 2D to 3D, with the former having a simplistic, cartoonish style and the 3D going for a more realistic approach. I got interested The brave squire when it was first announced in 2022, and the more I hear about it, the more I’m fascinated by its charming yet slightly odd gameplay elements. I’m not usually a fan of platformers, but I’m curious to give this one a chance.
