Aspyr Media has announced that the Deus Ex remaster will no longer be available on February 5, 2026, and as usual, the delay is due to them feeling that the game needs more work.
The full statement reads:
We thank the community for their feedback following the reveal of Deus Ex Remastered. We’ve listened to what you have to say, and to better meet fan expectations and provide players with the best possible experience, Deus Ex Remastered will no longer be available on February 5, 2026. We look forward to sharing more updates with you when the time comes. All existing pre-orders will be fully refunded. Thank you again for your patience and support.
The game was only revealed in September this year thanks to the cooperation of Aspyr and Eidos-Montréal. They seemed to be taking the right approach to the game, stating the mission: preserve the truth, modernize tools, and prepare the next generation of agents for what lies ahead.”
“This remaster is not just a visual improvement, but retains the Deus Ex DNA – carefully modernized without sacrificing the conspiratorial paranoia that made the original game so iconic,” he adds. “Each location has been rebuilt with new lighting, dynamic shadows, particle systems and improved textures,” they added.
The title is scheduled for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and Nintendo Switch. The reception to the trailer wasn’t very sultry, as the remaster adds fresh textures, improves models, and adds fresh lighting, but the levels are still very empty and meager. However, the models aren’t exactly contemporary and it looks more like someone put an Instagram filter on the original game.
