Baldur’s Gate 3’s uber-heavy Patch 7 has just landed on PC, bringing with it enough changes to match the word count of some university dissertations. However, if you’re looking to dive into the game on console or Mac, you’ll have to wait a little longer — until October, to be exact — to get your hands on it.
If you want a full rundown of what the patch includes, the full patch notes are now live, you’ll find all the details on bad endings, mod support, the revamped split screen and all the rest, you should check out our other patch note today. Make sure you pack your reading glasses, I’ve tried to be relatively brief, but I’m no miracle worker.

Either way, now let’s get down to where console and Mac users currently stand when it comes to getting the update. As outlined in patch notes/community update You have to wait until next month.
“Mac and console players, this is one of those patches that is so packed with changes and new features — including official mod support for all platforms — that it will take a little longer for this patch to get through all the necessary technical checks and requirements and then into your hands,” Larian explained. “Although later than originally planned, Patch 7 will hit consoles and Mac in October, and we’ll keep you posted on our progress!”
And there you go, there’s not much time left to sit around and add to the ever-growing library of Astarion fan fiction you’ve written, with a few stories about him going berserk when he’s forced to watch from afar as the rest of the team plays a certain video game on Sharran’s antique computer that’s somehow lethal to elves who like the taste of blood.
Alongside this and in relation to this, Larian revealed: “Unfortunately, this means that console players will not be able to load cross-saves if they are from Patch 7 on PC – and multiplayer between PC and Mac will not be possible. We are still working on bringing cross-play to Baldur’s Gate 3, and much like Patch 7, it requires a lot of work and testing before we are ready to release it into the wild.”
Of course, the first part about saves is definitely worth remembering if you want to start your Patch 7 adventure now and move to console later.
If you’re interested in more recent Baldur’s Gate 3 news, some of the game’s developers recently talked about breaking their own cinematic camera rules to give you a close-up look at the goblin’s feet, something you’ve no doubt been waiting for.
