The Orthodox icon is located in a basement in the Field of Poppies, an anomaly northwest of the first major city of the Small Zone, Zalissya. Carefully make your way to the marker on the map, making sure you don’t accidentally lead into the monster field behind you.

Once you arrive, a man will contact you Plaguewho will offer to sell information on how to get to the main basement. He wants money up front or for you to do a quick job for him, which involves running around the Poppy Field and looting bodies. Ignore it for now, but we’ll potentially come back to it soon.

When you enter the Poppy Field, your character will start blinking excessively, blurring the screen severely. Eventually you will lose control completely, pass out, and wake up somewhere else, such as in a barn or on the roof. If this happens too many times in a row, you will die.

To stay awake, you need to drink an energy drink non-stop. This will temporarily prevent you from passing out, but you’ll need more than one to give yourself enough time to reach the basement. There are two Non-Stop Energy Drinks in each of the main buildings in the Poppy Field.

Looking at the map, you want to go to west side of the fieldjust to east of the leftmost green patch. If you’re having trouble, look where the yellow circle is on the map above. Here you will find the entrance to the basement, just sitting in the grass and flowers (shown in the image above).

Leave the hole and you will be safe from the poppies. Go further and pick up an Orthodox icon, which is an image of a religious figure sitting on a shelf.

Should I give the Orthodox icon to Pomor or Mitaj?

You have two choices about who to give the Orthodox icon to STALKER 2: Mityay or Pomor.

  • If you give Plague Orthodox icon, will give Unknown AR416 Stalker (seen in the image above). It’s a pretty decent rifle, with a high rate of fire, decent range, and good accuracy. However, he will give it to you for 10% stamina, which means it is basically useless unless you spend a lot of resources repairing it.
  • If you give he shook The Orthodox icon, back in Zalissya, will be given to you 1000 coupons (money).

The choice is ultimately yours. None of the options are so tempting that you will be hurting yourself in the long run if you make the “wrong” choice. However, the Pomora gun is basically garbage until you invest a lot of money in it. And although 1000 coupons are not much, it is something tangible and useful at the beginning of the game, so we recommend giving the icon to Mityay (which is much nicer to you, if that matters).
