Death Noodle Delivery is set to bring its nihilism to consoles

Troglobytes, Stupidi Pixel and Tiny Pixel Games have revealed that Death Pasta Deliveryan extremely nihilistic game about part-time work, is coming to PS4, PS5, Switch and Xbox Series X|S on July 31.

Death Pasta Delivery on PC in April of this year. I reviewed it around release and found it to be a hauntingly nihilistic and depressing game about the collapse of the world in the face of endless crises and unchecked technological progress. The game is based on the basic premise Paperboy and twists it to show its murky underbelly. It also combines several thematically crude themes to hammer home its points. It’s disturbingly effective.

You play as Jimmy, who is just trying to make ends meet in an uncaring world. He takes a job delivering pasta to people on the street, but each day brings more challenges as society quickly collapses and his dignity as a human being is dragged down the sidewalk.

Basic gameplay in Death Pasta Delivery is a rather simplified approach to Paperboybut most of the focus is on exploring Jimmy’s apartment building and talking to his neighbors. I mention this in my review, but if you just want to play Paperboythen don’t bother. It’s worth noting that one of my biggest complaints was the difficulty balancing, which has been fixed in multiple patches. If you’re in the mood for an effective and negative perspective on today’s world, then definitely check this out.

In fact, I hope the console release means more people will try it. It’s something that needs to be experienced.

Death Pasta Delivery is available now on PC. The game will be released on PS4, PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and Switch on July 31, 2024.
