Following a brief teaser during the Anniversary Stream earlier this year, Behavior Interactive today announced that a Castlevania Chapter will be coming to Dead by Daylight later this month.
Behaviour Interactive has confirmed in a press release that the Castlevania Chapter for Dead by Daylight will be available on August 27. The Chapter will introduce two up-to-date playable characters: Dracula will be the latest Killer to join the cast, while Castlevania III: Dracula’s Curse protagonist Trevor Belmont will be a up-to-date Survivor.
Behaviour notes that while Trevor is not a Belmont known for his musculature, Behaviour teases that his “unique skill set serves to set him apart”, including his teamwork skills that make him an effective team player. Dracula, on the other hand, has many different forms he can take, noting that Dracula has three different forms: Vampire, Bat, and Wolf.
“We wanted to create fluidity in the way players could transform between Dracula’s different forms and make it seamless,” Dead by Daylight imaginative director Dave Richard explained in a press release. “When I first played Symphony of the Night — one of my favorite games of all time — having those kinds of vampiric powers was absolutely incredible. The opportunity for players to take on the role of the Dark Lord in Dead by Daylight was a tantalizing and unique opportunity for us.”
