Dead by Daylight’s 2v8 multiplayer mode will launch next week as a limited-time event. 2v8 will be available from July 25 to August 8.

2v8 does exactly what its name suggests: it doubles the number of players in the game as two Killers team up to hunt down eight Survivors.

The long-awaited game mode won’t last very long, but Behavior has put a ton of work into trying to rebalance the game for the increased player count. There’s a fresh, super-sized map, as well as gameplay changes to rebalance the action. That means a class system instead of Perks, and Cages instead of Hooks.

In other Dead by Daylight news, cross-progression is coming to the game on July 22! Progress, gear, paid currency, and DLC can be shared between all platforms, with the sole exception of Nintendo Switch, which does not share currency or DLC. Click here to read the Behavior FAQ.

The latest installment of the crossover game series, The Fog, features Lara Croft from the Tomb Raider series, as well as a guest appearance in Survivor.

Volume 20: Mythic has also been announced, featuring fresh memories for Yui Kimura and The Spirit, a sinister fresh costume for Lara Croft, and more to unlock.

The highly anticipated release date for the single-player horror game The Casting of Frank Stone was also announced, with it set to launch in September.
