Dead in the featherlight of day already boasts a huge roster of original characters and horror legends from other franchises, including Resident Evil, Silent Hill, The Ring, Stranger Things, A Nightmare on Elm Street, Dungeons & Dragons, and the recently released Castlevania crossover. But the upcoming collaboration will add an even more unexpected pop culture figure to the mix. Behavior Interactive announced on Monday that we can expect a Five Nights at Freddy’s crossover in summer 2025.
IN Dead in the featherlight of dayfive players enter the game. Four play as the Survivors, who are helpless and unarmed but tasked with powering generators and escaping the scene of death. They are constantly pursued by the Killer, who has a variety of deadly powers. It’s basic to see how the murderous animatronics that work at Freddy Fazbear’s Pizza could fit into this formula.
The Five Nights at Freddy’s series has grown to include a extensive collection of games, novels, and even a film adaptation. It’s unclear how much content Behaviour will operate as part of this collaboration; some updates will only add Killer or Survivor, while the entire chapter will feature Killer, Survivor, and a modern map. With such a extensive library of games, it’ll be captivating to see what Behaviour uses as inspiration for Killer and his abilities.
Dead in the featherlight of day also allows its Killers to complete several gory animations. Each Killer has their own “Momento Mori” scene, showing them personally dispatching a hapless Survivor. I’m already getting nervous just thinking about what it would look like to have Freddy Fazbear murder someone with his bear hands. Thankfully, I don’t have to worry about that haunting my dreams for another year or so.
