Dead in the delicate of day‘s2v8 mode is a time-limited game mode that doubles the player count of the Trial. It also mixes up the core character mechanics, so all Survivors now exploit classes instead of Perks and Builds.
Developer Behavior Interactive is in iteration 2v8 mode IN Dead in the delicate of day whenever it’s made available for a limited-time event. At the time of writing, it feels a bit coarse around the edges, but the skeleton of how the mode should work is in place. Killers have buffed powers, and Survivors have set classes, so everyone is more or less on an equal footing. But understanding how each Survivor class works is crucial if you’re going to try to win the Trial.
All Survivor classes and skills in Dead by Daylight 2v8 Mode
I have listed all the Survivor classes below Dead by Daylight 2v8 Mode and what their skills are. I’ve also included a summary of how the class works and why their skills are good for specific types of play. Please note that the skill to unlock is the same for all classes, so I’m only listing it once to avoid confusion.
Escape
- Team skills: While sprinting, all Survivors within 12 meters gain 150% Haste for 3 seconds. This team ability has a 20 second cooldown.
- Aura Skill:Reveals the aura of pallets, windows, and walls that can be destroyed within a 32-meter radius.
- Innate ability: Gain 3% speed while wounded.
- Unlockable skill: Upon reaching the second cage state, Survivors gain the ability to heal themselves and fully recover. Once a Survivor fully heals, having completed at least 25% of their own recovery progress, they gain the Endurance status effect for 20 seconds and the Haste status effect for 10 seconds.
The Escapist class is all about forcing the entire Survivor team to get out of the Trial as quickly as possible. Those doing it are expected to sprint with other Survivors while being chased by Killers, possibly getting hit by said Killers in the process.
Since this class reveals pallets, windows, and walls that can be destroyed, it’s worth taking on Killers, as you can run around them in circles. After all, getting hit actually makes them go faster. The ability that’s unlocked shows that it’s not only critical to get hit and grabbed by Killers, it’s necessary. This ability gives the Survivor another chance to save another Survivor and assist as many players as possible get through the exit gates.
Guide
- Team skills: While repairing a generator, reveals your aura and your generator’s aura to your team.
- Aura Skill:Reveals the aura of any generator within a 16-meter radius.
- Innate ability:Survivors within 8 meters gain an additional 3% bonus to skill check progress while repairing a generator, and noise made by repairs is reduced by 50%. This does not apply when the Survivor is hiding in a locker.
- Unlockable skill:Same as the Escapist class.
The Guide is a Survivor class that should focus on repairing Generators and nothing else. This is captivating because it shows the rest of the team that you’re working on the Generator and that they have a better chance of completing the repair if they come to you. But you can also see the Generators that other Guides are repairing and know that you should work with them to speed up progress.
The class is also designed so that you can simply hang out near a generator that other Survivors are repairing and still enhance their progress. This is useful because many generators in 2v8 mode you have a constrained number of sites available, and there are eight teams running around the map.
Medical
- Team skills: While healing another Survivor, their aura is revealed to the team. Survivors within 3 meters gain a 25% bonus while healing others. This does not apply while in pursuit.
- Aura Skill:Reveals the aura of injured Survivors within a 128-meter radius.
- Innate ability: Increases healing speed by 35%
- Unlockable skill:Same as the Escapist class.
As you’ve probably guessed, the Medic class is all about healing other Survivors and keeping them on their feet during the Trial. Their Team Skill should pull other Survivors towards you when healing assistance is needed. It will also buff any Survivors healing each other, regardless of whether you’re actively healing them or not.
Being able to spot injured Survivors on the map is incredibly helpful and will keep your team from being trapped by Killers for as long as possible. I found the Innate Ability to be a bit tedious, but increased healing speed is never a bad thing when you’re being chased by two Killers.
Scout
- Team skills:When the Killer is within line of sight of 64 yards, his aura is revealed to the party.
- Aura Skill:Reveals the aura of both Killers when they perform an action to break pallets, generators, or destructible walls.
- Innate ability: Painful groans from damage are reduced while crouching. Increases movement speed while crouching.
- Unlockable skill:Same as the Escapist class.
There should be no more than two Scout-class Survivors in a team. Their job is to watch and look out for Killers, while everyone else is busy repairing generators, healing each other, and trying to escape.
Their ability to reveal the Killer’s aura is incredibly powerful. This means that the entire team can move away at the mere thought of the Killer approaching the map area. Considering the size of these maps, this is a powerful move to be able to coordinate players who won’t even have voice chat.
Reduced pain moans mean Scouts can stay alert even after being hit, which they likely will. Killers will see Scouts before other Survivors, as they are effectively being chased by them, so it’s worth staying still when Killers are closing in and there’s no one nearby to heal you.
