Danganronpa 2: Goodbye Despair returns in the form of Danganronpa 2×2 on PC via Steam, Nintendo Switch, Switch 2, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X and S.
Spike Chunsoft announced the remaster of his sequel to the visual novel in 2012 during today’s Nintendo Direct. The trailer of the modernized re -release re -introduces players to fans of Peak Academy Academy fans, such as Gundham Tanaka, Nagito Komaed and Mahiru Koizumi, when Monokuma imprisoned them in the next twisted killing game.
Danganronpa 2×2 is expected to be launched on PC and consoles in North America and Europe in 2026. Spike Chunsoft claims that it will contain a “freshly renovated” version of the original story scenario in Danganronpa 2: Goodbye Despair, including updated visualization in experience that will provide “more beautiful and satisfying experience in the game.”
A real draw from Danganronpa 2×2 is an promise of an additional, up-to-date story for players in which players will sink their teeth. It is not clear how it will turn away from Goodbye Despair StoryLine for over a decade, but at least this confirms the restoration of the original staffing of the character.
“Danganronpa 2×2 contains a new scenario based on Danganronpa 2: Goodbye Despair,” said Spike Chunsoft in a statement. “The setting and cast of the character remain the same, but a certain incident causes a completely different chain of events with various victims, perpetrators and tricks. This new scenario offers a volume of content on a par with the original.”
