Cyberpunk 2077: Board Game Funded in 10 Minutes

Published:

Cyberpunk 2077: The Board Game from CD Projekt Red and Go On Board reached its crowdfunding goal in just 10 minutes and 4 seconds.

The campaign, which was launched on the crowdfunding website Found at 6 a.m. Pacific Time, was fully funded at 6:10 a.m. The board game is currently, less than two hours later, 777% funded, with $778,783 in donations.

“Cyberpunk 2077: The Board Game is a cooperative, story-driven tactical action game for one to four players that explores a what-if scenario that changes a key event from the video game,” the synopsis reads.

The game features 13 missions, unique mechanics, and characters from CD Projekt Red’s Cyberpunk universe, including V, Judy, Panam, and Jackie.

“A fast-paced, time-pressure board game that recreates the experience of being a mercenary in Night City, with epic action moments and over 50 Street Stories to keep every playthrough diverse and unique. It also includes an additional Afterlife Mission Generator that offers high replayability with dozens of individual missions for players to create.”

The $79 Cyberpunk 2077: The Board Game standard edition includes five player figures, all necessary boards, a Night City map with 50 locations, paper enemies, lots of tokens and dice, and a rulebook.

The $139 Deluxe Edition includes all of that and more, including full plastic miniatures of all the enemies and other characters, and a ton of other upgrades. CD Projekt Red took a similar approach with The Witcher: Old World board game.

All bonus goals were achieved in such a tiny time, which means players can expect a novel game mode, additional weapons, better quality products, more miniatures and a novel mission.

CD Projekt Red is expanding its Cyberpunk 2077 tabletop role-playing game adaptation universe in a myriad of ways. Not only is a full sequel to the beloved game coming, but a live-action project is in the works, and CD Projekt Red has also confirmed that more animated projects similar to Cyberpunk Edgerunners are on the way.
