Despite previously stating that they have finished developing and improving Cyberpunk 2077, CD Projekt Red has just released Cyberpunk 2077 update 2.2, which brings with it a recent set of customization options and a revamped photo mode… plus a few extra secrets.
The biggest news for passionate video game fans will be the change in photo mode. Now provides a fully independent drone camera that is no longer set in orbit around V and has increased range. You can also turn collision detection on and off, lock it, set precision mode, spawn up to 3 NPCs to adjust and position themselves as you wish, spawn delicate sources, set effect intensity, and more.
This will go well with expanded character customization options with more eye colors, lip makeup types, nail colors, scars, eyebrows, tattoos, and so on. The character creator randomizer now also has a “Normal to Punk” slider if you just want to get a quick vibe.
More cars can benefit from Rayfield CrystalCoat technology, which lowers the level requested by the NCPD, and Twintone allows you to scan a car you pass and instantly transfer its color scheme to the car.
Beyond that, there are a few other bug fixes and quality of life improvements, as well as an captivating note: “Added more secrets to discover in Night City.”
Intriguing.
Here are the full Cyberpunk 2077 Update 2.2 patch notes:
New features
- Initially designed exclusively for Rayfield vehicles, Rayfield CrystalCoat™ technology has now been adopted by other car manufacturers. You can now change the livery of Herrera, Mizutani, Quadra and Villefort vehicles. Pro tip: Use CrystalCoat™ to trick the cops and lower your NCPD Wanted Level!
- Kiroshi presents TWINTONE™! As CrystalCoat™ grows in popularity, TWINTONE™ takes painting jobs to the next level. Simply scan your car with Kiroshi Optics, go to the TWINTONE™ tab, and then save your vehicle’s color scheme for a diminutive fee. You will then be able to select the schema in the TWINTONE™ database under the CrystalCoat™ menu. There you will also find generic color schemes for all CrystalCoat™ compatible vehicles, as well as unique color schemes only available for the vehicle model from which they were copied. Please note that cloning color schemes is not permitted on mission-related, NCPD or non-CrystalCoat™ compatible vehicles.
- All CrystalCoat™ and TWINTONE™ compatible vehicles are marked with a spray can icon on the Autofixer.
- The ten most wanted vehicles from the streets of Night City can now be purchased at Autofixer:
- Mizutani Shion MZ1
- Mizutani Shion Targa MZT
- Thornton Galena GA32t
- Thornton Colby CST40
- Archer Quartz EC-L r275
- Quadra Typ-66 640 TS
- Quadra Typ-66 680 TS
- Mahir Supron FS3-T
- Villefort Deleon V410-S Coupe (Phantom Liberty only)

- Full Collision (ON/OFF) – Determines whether the camera takes into account collisions of in-game objects.
- Lock Camera (ON/OFF) – Locks the camera to avoid false clicking and damaging the frame.

- Aspect Ratio (PC only. Custom resolution screenshots are not available on consoles. Console systems can only export images in the standard 16:9 aspect ratio.)

- Kiroshi’s SmartFrames™ allows you to display photos in the game’s Photo Mode by interacting with the picture frames in V’s apartments. Browse your photo collection in the recent Gallery menu tab, located next to the Journal, Shards, and Tarot. The gallery downloads images in .png format from the screenshots folder on your computer or from the console gallery. More information about SmartFrames™ and the Gallery can be found here Support article.
