It’s not on my 2024 bingo card, but I’m still very jealous. Devolver Digital and Massive Monster, the teams behind this devilish game, will host two Weddings in the style of the Cult of the Lamb at this year’s PAX Australia.
That’s right – the event will feature two completely real and legally binding wedding ceremonies in October. If you’re going to the show, you can get involved and wish the joyful couples well at 11am and 3pm on Sunday 13th October. You can’t miss the venue – there will be a full-scale Cult of the Lamb temple in the venue. As one of my favourite indie games, I love the idea and would love for them to bring it to the UK, thanks.
Two joyful couples (oh how I wish that was mine) applied for Cult of the Lamb he tweeted about the opportunity in April. Eligible couples had to be in Melbourne or willing to travel and were very earnest about the idea. Those selected even got their own pet portraits, which can be seen Here.
Affectionately named “Unholy Matrimony,” this all ties in with the latest DLC the game has received, titled Unholy Alliance. This is an added cooperative mode where you and another player can run a cult together as a sheep and a goat. What better way to celebrate than by uniting two souls in perfect harmony?
Julian Wilton, Creative Director of Massive Monster, has planned this to be a bigger and better event than last year’s Federation Square rave. As he himself says, “How do you top that this year? Easy… wedding rituals!” And he’s not wrong.
If you’re in the area, head over to PAX Australia to visit the Cult of the Lamb booth (complete with temple) and take in some panels, presentations, and pick up some recent merch. Okay, look, I was jealous before, but now I’m just depressed.
If you’re looking for something recent to play, we can recommend some great farming games, RPGs for Switch, as well as the best roguelikes, after the latest Cult of the Lamb update of course.
