Thanks to Hollow Knight: The huge premiere of Silksong in a full attack, a social debate about its features and defects went back and back, and some players insist on their criticism about things, such as the difficulty of the game are vital and should not be immediately rejected as “hatred”.
Silksong began over six years after the announcement of his huge excitement, and the early tips are that this is a critical and commercial success. At the time of the publication of this article, the number of parallel Steam players was over half a million, and the reviews of English users were on “very positive”.
However, when more players go through the game, some express criticism in social media, subreddits, disagreements and reviews of Steam. Most of this criticism revolves around the scaling of Silksong difficulties, which causes players’ problems and brutal rounds. There is even one very early miniboss, which also causes many players a whole lot of trouble.
“Is it only me or some of the things that make silksong” complex “just cruel?” Redditor Machi-Teat wondered.
“The game has artificially inflated difficulty and playing time due to the number and tasks related to the law,” we read in the post Couple.
This reaction to this kind of criticism caused a debate in the game community. Take this post Steam, for example. “Maybe you’re getting old and your skills have fallen,” this is the first answer.
I love reading negative reviews of Silksong, because they are only people complaining that the game is too complex and does not love them pic.twitter.com/65fv9lbtax

“It’s okay that Silksong is difficult” Declared Redditor Jacked-Demamp in a thread preserved 1,400 times. “It is already getting old, seeing that every other online post about this game is someone complaining about the difficulty, especially when there are so many amazing things to talk, like the Quest system and new mechanics.
“The appearance in this game in this game is crazy, and while playing I would like people to experience the fact that it is complex, because there is nothing to be than being better. The game is not there, and it’s complex – just like the original. Personally, I love that mechanics are so different and require a lot of learning, because after playing hundreds of hours, not wanting to just break through Silks.
“I think that we just have to realize what it is and nurtured these early days with a unique work of art. It’s okay to be frustrated, but not that these feelings overshadow how great experience is.”
This sentiment pushed the debate even more, and some players repel against “git gud” and “releasing skills” to insist, that it would be fine to indicate flaws in Silksong, but beloved and vital can be.
“Criticism is not hatred” counteracting redditor bboy2812 in a thread recognized 5,200 times. “Most of the criticism I saw here, and Steam discussions are consistently rejected as hatred. Evil rosary economy, crazy difficulties, scaling, very little significant unlocking/improvements, rounds, enclosed in fighting bosses, arranging contact damage with normal hits, etc.
“The only” hatred “I saw come from people who spam” git gud “and” problem with skills “whenever they encounter vital complaints about their excellent little game, which may have nothing wrong with it.”
If it sounds familiar, perhaps because we have repeatedly passed such a debate with Souls Software games. A typical “soul cycle” usually begins with worship and then a complaint that the game is too difficult, and then insight into why they are too hard and then accusations “git gud”. It seems that Silksong follows the same path.
Meanwhile, the debate about Silksong’s difficulties shows no signs of a slowdown, as you can expect such a popular game. Fortunately, Ign is here to help. Here’s how to unlock and use the map, how to get rosary beads, a list of achievements and trophies, and our and our extension Interactive Silksong map. You may also need a Bell Best Boss Boss guide. It’s difficult!
