Almost all of her skills are useful in different situations, so she’s one of the more challenging characters to build.
Our Sword of Convallaria Gloria build showcases Gloria’s best skills and weapons, along with Trinkets to facilitate her shine. If you’re looking for a more defensive unit that’s easier to acquire, don’t ignore Maithy – or our Maithy build guide.

Convallaria’s Sword Gloria’s Skills
Gloria’s passive abilities affect which abilities work best when you level up. This increases her Attack and creates a Flag Waving Aura that increases Attack and Defense of nearby allies by 12 percent. When the aura decays under certain conditions, Gloria gains the Potential Burst status, increasing Attack by 20 percent and Defense by 40 percent.
Gloria is one of the most invested characters in Sword of Convallaria so far, but since she’s the unit that’s most likely to support you for the foreseeable future, she’s worth spending materials on when it counts.
Gloria’s Rank 1 Skill: Knight Spirit
- Gloria gains a 20% attack buff when attacking enemies from the front and a 40% defense buff when attacked from the front. That’s a pretty good set of boons, and since it’s a passive ability, you won’t need any energy
Gloria Rank 3 Skill: Spear of Longinus and Radiance of Longinus
- Gloria’s third rank is a uncommon case where it’s worth spending materials to get both abilities, though Lance of Longinus is most critical for her overall utility. Lance of Longinus allows Gloria to throw a spear and deal damage to enemies within two tiles of the target location, which is equivalent to 80 percent of her attack. She gains a flag that increases all allies’ attack and density for a few turns, and loses Flag Waving Aura, and if she uses an ability without Flag Waving Aura, it reactivates the movement buff from her trait. Several of Gloria’s attacks have different forms without Flag Waving Aura, so it’s worth having this one on hand for more than just the Potential Burst buff.
- Longnius Brilliance brings back one NRG and gives nearby allies an attack and damage reduction buff for a few turns. If Gloria doesn’t have Flag Waving Aura, the ability becomes Sword – Full Moon, which deals 90 percent of her attack as area damage, deals 30 percent more if enemies are damaged, and reduces incoming damage for Gloria. This is a great ability in either form, but you need Lance of Longinus to fully benefit from it.
Gloria’s Rank 5 Skill: Counterattack
- Front Defense is more of a fallback in very specific circumstances, so Counterattack is a better choice for this rank. When an enemy attacks from the front or side, Gloria responds with a counterattack that is equal to 70 percent of her base attack damage. It only activates once per round, but is still a good way to soften up nearby enemies.
Gloria’s Rank 7 Skill: Counterattack Mode and Oath of Justice
- Gloria’s leader aura only works with allies from her faction, but it certainly factory. For each Union ally, attack increases by 10 percent and defense by 20 percent. Impact damage is reduced by 24 percent, and busy attack damage receives a 12 percent buff. It’s just Good.
- On the other hand, Counterattack mode makes Gloria’s counters more powerful. Her counters are 50 percent stronger, and she gains a physical and magic defense boost equal to 20 percent of her physical attack. Her counters also reach two squares further for two turns, a useful boost if you’re dealing with ranged opponents. Both options are excellent, though Counterattack mode has the advantage of working without specific team compositions.
Gloria’s Rank 9 Skill: Lance of Justice
- Lance of Justice replaces Gloria’s basic attack and hits enemies within one tile of her for 70 percent of her Attack. If Flag Waving Aura is not busy, Gloria uses Sword of Justice instead, a single-target attack that hits enemies for 100 percent of her Attack. The scaling increases to 130 percent if Gloria attacks from the front.
Gloria’s Rank 11 Skill: Fair Duel
- Choosing between Gloria’s final abilities is tough, as both are excellent, but Fair Duel has a few advantages over Knight’s Glory, including the fact that it doesn’t rely on enemy affiliation for half of its usefulness. Fair Duel is a single-target attack that hits the enemy at 180 percent of Gloria’s attack, dispels all of Gloria’s debuffs, and removes all of the target’s buffs. It’s a great way to keep Gloria well and fit without having to apply a healer, while also weakening challenging enemies.
Convallaria Sword Gloria Weapon
Sword of Convalliara has a compact selection of spears beyond the most powerful, but at higher rarities you’ll certainly have plenty to choose from.
- Double-headed halberd: The Halberd is one of Gloria’s best options, as it boosts her AoE abilities – and that’s most of them. It increases the user’s Physical Attack by five percent and provides an additional damage buff of three percent for each enemy the user hits with their attack, up to nine percent.
- Skeleton Spear: However, if you find yourself using Gloria’s single-target attacks more often, then Skeleton Spear is a good choice. It increases the Physical Attack of the character that equips it by two percent and deals an additional 10 percent piercing damage to the target before the user casts the single-target ability.
- Halberd Pendant: This one has some useful passive effects. Before the character that equips it makes a single-target attack, they gain a 10% attack and defense buff. This works well with Gloria’s counterattacks and helps reduce her damage.
- Guardian Spear: Guardian Spear is a solid starting weapon, even if it’s a bit basic. It gives the character who equips it four percent more HP, which is plain but still helpful for Gloria when she’s a tank.
Convallaria Gloria Sword Talismans
Gloria is a pair of Trinkets that fit well into her kit, depending on the role you want her to play. For an offensive-oriented Gloria, consider Flying Blade Hand Guard. Gives the character who equips it an instant cast ability—which they can apply at any time, without taking an action for the turn—that deals piercing damage equal to 12 percent of the enemy’s HP. Furthermore, you can apply it twice per combat, and it only has a three-turn cooldown.
If you are having trouble keeping Gloria’s HP high, you can try Coexisting armor Instead. She’s usually best in tank roles, but considering Gloria oscillates between attack, support, and tanking anyway, the 5% incoming damage reduction is helpful.
Finally, if you choose Knight’s Glory instead of Fair Duel, you can try Breeze Herb Compound Condensed Pill. This is another instant Trinket ability that heals a character for 20 percent of their HP and dispels debuffs.
Sword of Convallaria Gloria Tarot Whispers
Dream of a Magician is one of Gloria’s best choices, as it gives the user a flat eight percent damage buff and increases the damage dealt by an additional four percent when the user’s ability hits more than one enemy. This buff stacks three times, for a total of 12 percent.
Gloria, who takes the initiative and defeats enemies on her own, should have Temptation of Devil. When the user defeats an enemy, they gain a stack of Devil that lasts throughout the battle and cannot be removed. Each stack increases the user’s Attack and Defense by three percent, up to a maximum of 30 percent.
If you want to go for a more defensive option, you can run The desire for moderationwhich grants the user a physical shield equal to 25 percent of their physical and magical attack. This shield cannot be dispelled.
